YARRR 🦜🏴☠️ I was thoroughly impressed with Mutiny- my first experience at Escape City Calgary (and Escape City in general)! Wow! You can tell this is a company that loves escape rooms. 🥹 This was a high-production value room with an immersive set and perfect balance of puzzle types. Minimal locks, high tech, and other creative, physical puzzles. When a review boasts high-tech I admit it’s usually not a selling point to me as I find some places try to badly crowbar tech in just for the sake of it, but everything here was cleverly placed in a way that made sense and felt organic to the theme. The puzzle flow was great; at no point was I confused over what I had to do. Mutiny is their easiest room but I still ended up asking for a couple hints and using the full time to escape. Perfect room for a duo or a group of beginners. The Gamemasters are super nice and also very attentive! Escape City is a must-visit if you’re doing escape rooms in Calgary 😁💯
The entire crew at Escape City were exceptionally nice- big shout out to Winnie!

The room looked nice but the overall experience at the escape room was disappointing. We started the escape room 30 minutes late due to technical issues, which were not solved by the time we finished the room. The puzzles themselves were very basic and did not require a lot of thought, however there were a couple fun puzzles. I love tech but for a pirate ship I feel like there was way too much tech and sometimes it didn’t make any sense. The final puzzle did not work so we were left unsatisfied and overall disappointed considering the room costs 35 dollars a player. We beat the room in 27 minutes with tech issues but those issues cost us a good 5 minutes. Overall the room itself was very basic puzzle wise and did not feel fun to complete. The room looked nice but that is all, personally it was not worth the price. The customer service was awesome though, they apologized for any tech issues and gave us complimentary drinks and a free game due to the issues. But this review is mainly just for this game and not the overall experience.
