Endangered

This room was hard, but in a good way. All the puzzles made sense and were super fun to figure out. It is a completely non-linear puzzle free-for-all, I have no idea what my other team mates did to solve their puzzles so there is the possibility for replayability. We beat the room with 25 minutes left (out of 75 minutes), which they told us was the best time they had seen so far, so if anyone does better put your time in your review because this room doesn’t have an official leaderboard!

Ive done 100+ rooms and I’ve never done a room like this before! Super fun and wish we would have asked for a clue sooner so we could have started solving puzzles sooner, we were stubborn. A lot of information in the room, some long puzzle and lots of puzzles so better to come with a group of 4. Ask for a clue as soon as you walk into the main room if you feel overwhelmed.

Ok but not amazing. It’s in a small space but it is well decorated. Most of the puzzles involve reading clues off laminated paper, then entering answers into a keypad. None of the puzzles felt unfair but none felt particularly fresh or surprising. That said, I did enjoy the unusual theme. If Morty offered a “meh” option, that would probably my choice, but I am instead giving it a mild thumbs up.

This is a jam-packed non-linear room— we were very glad to have 6 people! Very fun, with interesting puzzles that gave us a lot of “aha” moments. In retrospect I’m very impressed that we never invented a red herring for ourselves by mistakenly combining puzzles— they were well organized. Overall it’s a real standout of a room, highly recommended.

I never thought I would say this about an escape room, but I'm SO glad we had 8 people for this. I can't imagine getting it all done with fewer than 6. There are many separate puzzles that don't connect with each other, so you can really easily split up and figure everything out. I didn't even get to touch some puzzles, which is fine because the ones I did were super engaging and satisfying! It definitely helps teaming up on some of the tougher ones. So much fun, my heart is racing!!

Wow wow- loved this room!! Great for a larger group- quantity of puzzles was a great challenge for 5 of us experienced players. Non linear so we were all busy. Great feedback on solving puzzles. Only needed 1 hint. Greatly immersive and such a unique room. Would recommend.

The game is fun. Puzzles varied. Lots to do and something for everyone.

This room has such a different dynamic that I really appreciated! There were a couple of things about it I wish had been explained differently, so maybe clarify a little more than you normally would if you're an experienced player. We asked for several more hints than normal until we got the feel of the game, and I'm glad we did while there was still enough time to execute everything. We played with only 3- and one was under the weather so really 2- and holy trinity was there a lot to do! If I had it to do over I'd probably take 3 or 4. Loved the theme and set, it really feels like you might be there doing the thing. Haven't seen anything like this anywhere else to kudos for coming up with a unique theme! Immersive elements and especially sound design go a long way here. Definitely worth the detour on the road between PHX and LA!

The game and theme were a lot of fun. So much to do, and we definitely did not make our way through everything. Will have to try again to set all the animals free.

Endangered is such a well-designed and thoughtful escape room. The theme of rescuing endangered animals is not only unique, but works beautifully. The game flow is cleverly built to accommodate anywhere from 3 to 12 players, though I’d recommend 5-6. The puzzles are satisfyingly tactile, the sound effects are immersive, and the props fit the theme perfectly. There’s a ton to do in this room—so much so that I’d happily play it again and not need to repeat any puzzles. It’s clear a lot of care went into every detail when designing this room. Our game master was friendly and gave us just enough help when we asked without giving too much away. It’s so great to see how Escape Games at The River has leveled-up with each game they’ve created, and Endangered feels like a culmination of that progress. If you’re in or near Palm Springs, this one’s absolutely worth checking out.
