Henry and Elizabeth McKay's daughter, Matty, went missing, leading them to blame an ancient ruby necklace. Their desperate search for answers revealed they were marked for death and being hunted. Meanwhile, a ritual by paranormal investigators at their home summoned a demon instead of bringing Matty back. Now, the investigators must warn the McKays, but the demon is also on their trail. Henry and Elizabeth McKay were devastated when their daughter, Matty, went missing. They blamed both her disappearance and the evil in their home on an ancient relic - a ruby necklace meant to cure Elizabeth from a terminal illness. Upon discovering their daughter and the necklace were missing, they traveled to the relic’s creation site in hopes of finding answers. The secrets they uncovered on this trip confirmed their fears: they were marked for death. They were being hunted. Unbeknownst to them, a summoning ritual was taking place back at their house. Conducted by a crew working for Adam Monie, Paranormal Investigator, the ritual was intended to bring back the McKays' daughter but also summoned a demon intent on taking the relic. In their panic, the investigators left the necklace behind, which the entity took back to its realm. The investigators barely made it out of the house with their lives. Distraught, Henry and Elizabeth returned home, desperate to speak with Adam Monie, but he was gone. They found their daughter alone, scared, and different, clutching a broken piece of the necklace. The McKays quickly packed and hit the road, planning to hide away in their cabin several states away. Halfway there, they stopped at a motel to rest. They should have kept driving. Angered by the incomplete relic, the demon returned to this plane, searching for the broken piece Matty carried. He planned to do whatever it took to get it back. You are the paranormal investigators who summoned him. Now, it’s your job to warn the family. You've been hot on their trail, but so has the demon. Is it too late? Book your stay at Monie Motel and find out.

This Cabin Series really has me wanting more. I was a little skeptical about playing this one thinking it might be more of the same. But let me just say, you will not be expecting this! So much to do, so much to see and so many screams. This run down motel looks like it has been nestled in the side of a mountain for many years. Such an amazing set. Barely made it out of this one and wanted to stay for more. Matty I hope your family is free now. Oh wait! Cabin final chapter! Let’s gooo!

We had a great time with chapter two. Although scary experiences are not our favorite, the puzzles and theming were so satisfying to solve that it was definitely worth it. The amount of exploration of this “room” was my favorite aspect.

Our experience with doing Chapter 1 & 2 of The Cabin was fantastic! Our game masters of Megan, Miles, and Ky were absolutely wonderful and really made our experience all that more exciting. We were a group of four, and definitely felt the terror as we did these rooms. Highly recommend bringing a semi-large group — you do NOT want to be by yourself for this one! Really fun rooms, though, and I can’t wait to come back to do more.

So we did not get to do the scary version because we had a young kid with us that didn’t do so hot during chapter one. However this still had a spooky feel to it and I’m sure the sense of urgency and scary would have been dialed up. This felt like a run down danky hotel and was done very well. If you play Chapter One this is a must play.
Spooky
We're glad to hear we could help make the little one's experience in The Cabin better suited to them! Thanks for coming in to see us again!

Chapter two is an amazing experience! I felt like I was in a movie the entire time. So scary and not for the faint of heart. The set is something right out of the movies and gives off that old slasher motel vibe. You have to do this experience.
This experience is amazing!

I absolutely love Escape Hour and everything they do. They are by far the best place in Austin. We did this room after only being open for a couple of days so take that in consideration. We loved chapter 1. This experience was more vast. The puzzles just didn’t flow for us. There wasn’t enough signposting and we ended up being handheld by the GM through most of the puzzles. That was so frustrating and just not fun. We were given 4 flashlights for 5 people. 3 of them would only stay on for 3 seconds at a time and would turn off. It was such an unnecessary distraction and just fueled the frustration. I think I’m going to start bringing my own flashlights. We did enjoy the jump scares and the rich story. We only got through about 80% of the room with 5 people. Everyone was just so bummed at the end.
