The newest property owners have asked your team of paranormal investigators to investigate the area and set any lost souls to rest. The moment you enter the bell tower, the door slams shut and you find yourself locked inside. An eerie childlike laugh floats on the air and you can almost hear the echoing bells. Will you unravel the truth or will the truth and you stay locked in an unmarked grave?

Our second of the day. Fantastic atmosphere and some great puzzle elements I'd never seen before. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. Thanks so much for such a great evening!

Immersive. Enjoyable. Slightly challenging. Solid theming. Our group did this and the 90s Nostalgia and this was the favorite for sure.

As a scaredy cat this game was still fun! Only 2 real jump scares. The premise is that youre helping save souls, not getting haunted by them, which makes it feel “safe” The puzzles were fun but it did feel like you had to keep track of too much “stuff” to solve the puzzles with.

What an amazingly designed room! I was very impressed. It was really difficult with just two people, so if you want to try and beat records, come with 4 or more. The rooms were fairly large and can accommodate several people. Some of the puzzles were difficult, so there was a good mix. The employees were also really nice. I was told this is their hardest room.

Love the spooky ghastly vibe of this room! It’s not scary either which worked great for us. It’s pretty dark and they actually purposefully dimmed the flashlights which is good for mood but tough for seeing. I liked the tools we got to use as a paranormal investigator. Wasn’t expecting the rooms to be as good as they are. Had a ghoulishly good time!

What a perfect escape experience. The puzzles were difficult, but very fun. Some require cleverness, some require luck, some require typical ghost hunting equipment! The staff are incredible. We cannot wait to do our next room.

Gameplay

It was difficult to discover which puzzles came next. But the puzzles themselves were fantastic. No combination locks! The few padlocks used older style keys, which felt natural.

Atmosphere

This was our second room at BoxedIn. Atmosphere has been top notch for both Lost Souls and Search for Sasquatch. After escapes they give you time to relive the room, and answer any questions. This time the owner/designer was in the room with us, and she was so wonderful. These set pieces are marvelous, and their inclusion in the puzzles is phenomenal.

Customer service

Excellent customer service. This is truly a source of pride for the employees and owners. The other rooms didn’t intrigue me right away. But after how our group was treated both times we are excited to complete every escape at BoxedIn

Rating: 4/5 - Another fantastic game from Boxed In, it was super creepy and atmospheric, this small town company is doing great things. The set was very immersive, the church looked appropriately weathered and old, I enjoyed exploring the multiple areas. The puzzles were fun, tactile, and on theme, it was mostly tech with a couple of padlocks, but the locks felt old which fit the theme (no bright colored letter locks). There were at least a couple things I've never done before even after 150+ rooms. I liked the spooky narrative that had a satisfying ending, the room does have at least 1 minor, tech based jump scare but it's not bad and definitely would not call it scary overall. The room is dark but they provided multiple flashlights. Overall, the rooms here are a must-play if you are in St. Louis and worth driving at least couple hours. I also met the owners and they were so friendly! I played this one solo (paid for 2) and got out with time to spare, but recommend a team of 2-4 enthusiasts. Between this, Sasquatch, and 90s Nostalgia it's hard to pick a favorite. Sasquatch has easier puzzles and the set had cooler reveals. The 90s room has more enjoyable references and a more fun story that made you feel like a kid again. Lost Souls is more atmospheric with cooler tech, but it's harder and spookier (which can be good or bad depending on what you want).
