The mysterious murders of college students across Bloomington-Normal has left authorities looking foolish. While the dead have been piling up courtesy of the killer known publicly as “Silent Shroud,” the police have found themselves constantly going down dead-ends. Just last week, the case of the “Silent Shroud” was declared cold. The investigation halted after a few detectives went missing around this shack located on the outskirts of the city. Their disappearance happened roughly sixty minutes after entering and no one has seen them since. Rumors have circulated regarding the disappearance. Some say that the Shroud took them for his next victims and some have even believed he is the Zodiac killer reincarnated. The shack has been taped off from the public, but that has not stopped many true crime fanatics and thrillseekers from entering the horror hut in order to try to solve the case themselves. Killers often have a box of trophies from their victims and some people are certain it is hiding within the walls of the Shack and will solve the case. While I don’t encourage entering, if you do, don’t stay any longer than an hour, or else you may end up wherever those detectives are now, and your untimely death will be Bloomington’s next news story.

I was pleasantly surprised by this room! It had a puzzle I had never seen before and put some truly unique spins on puzzles we see a lot. The minimum players for the room is listed at 4 but they let me book for 2 through calling. The game master, Charlie, was hilarious and attentive and she and her coworker said we had the best time they’d ever seen! I would recommend 4 people though but my husband and I enjoyed the challenge of 2. Overall a fun and somewhat spooky room. Will be coming back to complete their other rooms for sure!
Flowed very nicely!

Did not know what to expect at EscapeTown Bloomington, but was pleasantly surprised. The Shack had some nice sets and props in the room, and there were a lot of different puzzles you had to complete. We brought 4 people and having 1-2 more people would have helped us move through faster. The room was a little lock heavy, but some of the puzzles were a lot of fun. A few times, we had the correct numbers from dates, but the locks allowed too many possibilities so it tripped us up a bit. The use of mirrors and a hair dryer was interesting. Overall, the sets made you feel like you were in a killer’s house, so a very good atmosphere. The room flowed pretty well, but we did solve a few puzzles out of order and in doing so, threw us off on what we needed to solve to be able to move forward. However, from the great hints our GM Kenzie gave us, we were able to escape and solve every puzzle. Customer service at EscapeTown Bloomington was fantastic. GM Kenzie gave us great hints throughout and even added on some extra time so we would be able to experience the entire room and escape. Overall, a solid room and a really fun experience.
