Timberland

I was excited to play a 90 minute room but it fell short of expectations. There was no real intro to the story and what little we got didn't feel cohesive. The opening puzzle to get you into the room was too complicated and didn't add anything to the experience. Once the actual game began I felt a little better. The setting was beautiful and a lot of attention to detail went into the room. In fact, a little too much attention. Red herrings abound throughout the game. The puzzles were confusing at time and some left us grasping for the logic. The ending felt like it popped out of nowhere and the winning move is just anticlimactic.

The start of this room was overly complicated, the second part had an amazing atmosphere but it went down hill from there regarding puzzle play. The objective was lost along the way, and each puzzle had a layer of a confusing element. (I’ve played over 500 games so I’ve seen a lot) The end was interesting, but came out of no where. I think with some puzzle editing this could be very great, but unfortunately the experience fell short for me.

Great theme and use of puzzles. The flow and aesthetic to this room was very immersive and well done. Great room for a date night and good for kids too.
