The tram ride itself was rough. The announcer was way too loud, to the point of the audio cracking. We were pretty cramped in, too. The video screens were playing trailers/ads about the Blumhouse movies they were featuring as part of the attraction, which were also very loud. It felt a bit too advertise-y/gimmicky for me, especially for movies that have already been released. It was my first time doing the tram as part of the Halloween Horror Nights experience, so I wasn't expecting us to be walking around the areas you normally aren't allowed to be close to. Overall I felt pretty underwhelmed by the walk through.

Scary

Not scary

I personally didn't find it very scary at all.

Atmosphere

Costuming and set designs were impressive at the very least, however the walk through was very loud and overstimulating. There were multiple people playing the same characters through each section (sort of like a snippit of a movie scene), with specifc sections for each film. The only segment that really stood out to me was the Black Phone one. Was pretty cool to see the Psycho house up close, though.

Trailer bathrooms; better than portopotties.

Not great, but not terrible. Expect to search for a space.

The Terror Tram is always a must, but it was a bit short this time. This year they went for a different approach of having more set pieces and scenes with less free roaming actors, and that was honestly a miss for me. The big redeeming factor was the Purge section, which was terrifying and so full of memorable scares! If the whole thing was like this, it would be my favorite Terror Tram so far.

I loved the Blumhouse movie theme. However, this year’s path after the Terror Tram drops you off was noticeably shorter than it had been the past few years. This is always my favorite experience at Hollywood Horror Nights, but it wasn’t as good this year.

We went early in the season and during the heat wave opening weekend, so we were blessed with very low wait times for everything!

Duration

15-30 min

It took us a half hour including the drive and with only a couple minute wait for boarding the tram.

Parking

Always way too expensive and still a long walk away.
