This is more classic immersive theater a la “Sleep no more” than a haunt. Structurally and from a craft perspective I think this is the best constructed immersive I ever experienced. The characters were fleshed out and interesting and in spite of groups being split and reconnected again and again and each group getting different parts of the story I never felt lost. In fact I was pulled into a gripping plot and characters.

So with all that said it’s a shame that I can’t give the show raving reviews because of its extremely disappointing ending. The most objectively disappointing part is the vote. In theory the show ends with us voting to decide whether the revealed villain is killed by her husband or sent to face a courts Justice (which would likely be a death sentence anyway) which already feels borderline meaningless. But if you vote for her husband to spare her as we did, she is still almost immediately killed by the ghost. On a more subjective level. Having the villain be the character with good intentions who went too far is an old and tired one and that was never that good to begin with. Secondly nearly every woman in this play got a terrible death. All of this left a bad taste in my mouth which is a shame because there is clearly some impressive talent and great understanding of how to write immersives.
