Coole Sache, immer was zu tun.

6/10 Oh boy, I must have played a different game than everyone else who gave this room such a positive review. I didn’t think this was fun at all! In most escape rooms you are free to explore the space and interact with free moving objects. Not in ZOE. ZOE makes sure to immediately tell you not to touch very obvious puzzle pieces once you place your fingers on them. You are not free to explore nor think for that matter. And “thinking” won’t do you much good here. The puzzles are so dumb and nonsensical that when you get the answer you are left with an empty, dissatisfied feeling. Not to mention some of the puzzles aren’t even fun. They are laborious, almost impossible thanks to constant strobe lights and low light. The story doesn’t really make sense and the set design feels out of place is some spaces. There will be cutscenes that come out of no where, interrupting your momentum, leaving you confused and bewildered on what just happened. At some point, the game master will be in the room with you. Not for any particular reason. Just standing there, watching you try to solve one of the stupidest puzzles you will have the pleasure of attempting in Athens. Why do so many people give this room raving reviews? Beats me. How this ended up on TERPECA’s top 100? I have no idea. Are TERPECA rankings broken? In my opinion yes, but that’s for you to decide. But I’m just some random person who plays escape rooms. So what do I know?

The story was really unique, which I find is rare in horror escape rooms. I really appreciated the dedication by the actors who kept it scary throughout with some jumps and a lot of beautifully done scenes. Some of the scenes had special effects that really wow. The experience also moved through several different environments, which added variety and interest. The creators did a great job on the sets and in developing a truly immersive event. Highly recommend that you check out this newer game in Athens.

The story was really good. Music can be a bit loud. Beautiful set and good acting.
