The God of Restroom

Out of the 3 rooms at Odyssey, The God of (Public) Restroom was the one I was the most intrigued by. The real talking point in this one was the story, a surprisingly indepth, fleshed out tale of death, family and reconciliation. Strange given the bathroom setting but a welcome addition overall. Unfortunately in terms of content it was more of the same when it came to the broken English translations and general sense of direction for players to follow. Nothing we really did at any point seemed to have a direct purpose or reason behind it, just strange tasks being carried out with seemingly random solutions. It all fell apart very quickly. Overall an interesting story let down by incoherent design choices and poor wording.

A unique theming for a room communing as a spirit through a helpful bathroom God to make up for mistakes made in life. Cool. I just wish the puzzles were better. I liked communicating through the phone, it was a fun idea but I think a few things throughout were lost in translation to English. I can't say any of the puzzles wowed me and I think everything overall could be a bit clearer. Interesting theme, lacklustre execution. Tina was again a great help.

This is probably their best room in this venue. However, this room still compares poorly to other typical escape rooms. Most players will be disappointed; even though most elements of this room is acceptable. Most puzzles were ok and suited the theming. However, gameplay felt stunted and atmosphere is underdeveloped.
