Red Door's "The Gift" drops you into a classic heist scenario with a simple but effective setup. You're here to pull off a job, and from the moment you step inside, the atmosphere sells the fantasy. The set design convincingly captures that backstage, slightly off-limits feel that makes a heist game work. It feels like a real space you shouldn't be in, which is exactly the vibe you want. The most impressive element is how the room handles the concept of being inside versus outside the operation. The transitions between these two states are seamless and add a layer of authenticity that elevates the experience. Flow-wise, "The Gift" moves at a comfortable and engaging clip. The progression feels natural, guiding you from one objective to the next without frustrating lulls or confusing dead ends. It's the kind of room where the momentum carries you forward, making the time feel well-spent. The puzzles strike a nice balance. They aren't brutally difficult, which keeps the game accessible, but they do require you to actually pay attention. A keen eye for detail is your best tool here. The solutions are logical and fair, but they reward players who take a moment to really observe their surroundings rather than just rushing through. And the game relies mostly on mechanical locks and physical interactions. While "The Gift" does almost everything well, it rarely surprises you. The journey is enjoyable, the heist transitions are genuinely cool, and you'll feel clever when you spot that crucial detail. But you probably won't leave buzzing about a moment you've never seen before. It's a solid, well-built room that delivers exactly what it promises, even if it doesn't push any boundaries. Overall, "The Gift" is a satisfying heist experience that tells a coherent story and backs it up with solid puzzle design. It's a great choice for a small group looking for an engaging hour with a strong sense of atmosphere and purpose.

I really enjoyed this game. I’m not sure if we were just really on our A game but it was far from a hard game. We have done several rooms and this one we completed with 20 mins to spare and used one clue. I think I would have been able to solve the puzzle if I had thought about it harder because I knew all the pieces to it just couldn’t quite make my brain work lol. Overall, one of my favorite games I’ve done. Lots of puzzles, love the different rooms, and game master was great. It was just the two of us (which we do most of the time) and we both were able to do a lot separately and together. 10/10 rating.

We almost beat it! One last puzzle left. The game master was amazing and came in to the room to guide us through the last puzzle and still called it a successful escape, though we went a few minutes past the 1 hour given. Red Door escape rooms is always the best at people service and have amazing set ups. 10 out of 10. Can't wait to go back for another room.

Our experience would have been better with a better game master. It was clear she wasn’t paying attention at times when we needed clues. She also didn’t know where we were at with a puzzle and gave the same clue several times wording it differently not realizing we already solved a portion of the puzzle. They are able to watch everyone on camera at this escape room. In the past other game masters were on top of it watching us. Either she was busy with more than one game or simply wasn’t paying attention. If you have an attentive game master I think this is a great room and a lot of fun. The theme was cool and there were a few clever puzzles. Not too many locks either. We still had a good time and will go back for other games.

Gameplay

Fun concept. We enjoyed the theme.

I believe they have a way to open a door so that you don’t have to go up the stairs to get to the next room if you have mobility issues.

A neat premise, but the holiday element add-on was chintzy. Puzzles were interesting, though didn’t love the hint system, a button and screen system - nothing in theme with the room. Staff were nice enough, though the gm at the end seemed more interested in shoving us of the room as fast as possible rather than making sure that we had a good experience.
