35 escape rooms
Our group has played a few rooms at this venue. While we understand that low light contributes to ambience and immersion, it becomes problematic when some degree of light is needed to locate items in the room to solve a puzzle. This could be solved with torches if they want to maintain the look and feel. At one point we ended up in the second space and were there for a few minutes in the dark before our GM intervened to reset because we weren’t meant to be there yet (he said we triggered the emergency button, we didn’t think we had but okay) Our biggest issue was that there was a point where a writing implement was meant to be discovered to solve the next puzzle. We knew the method but discounted it because of the absence of a writing implement. When we asked the GM at the end, he searched the place it was meant to be, confirmed it wasn’t there, said “sorry” and moved on. We weren’t offered anything beyond that- surely in a situation where the room is not completely set up there would be a system of refund/credit/voucher/recompense. We love escape rooms and this one is local to us, but we are second guessing patronage based on this
