92 escape rooms
Nice idea but just too easy. It was over almost before it began, and we didn't even beat the fastest team. We've done all the Red House rooms and loved them (current and historic, Torquay as well as Exeter) and this is the first one where we've walked away feeling deflated even though we "escaped". Very linear puzzles so you need more content if it's going to be that straightforward. Or make the puzzles a bit less obvious. Managed to skip one puzzle completely so not sure if the room was set incorrectly or we just got "lucky" ("unlucky?)
Gameplay
The puzzles flow pretty much straight into each other. There was some novelty.
Atmosphere
Atmosphere was fine but nothing very special.
Customer service
The GM seemed nice but new.
Particularly interesting or different
No
The scenario sounded good, because you were doing a bad thing rather than saving the day for a change, but the game didn't live up to its promise.
Story
The plot sounded good but wasn't very well executed. There was a side quest, but I don't even know how you know if you succeeded or failed on that as the GM never mentioned it.
Difficulty
Easy
I'd definitely have liked more room for the money. The theme didn't seem child friendly but the puzzles were.
Ideal number of players
2
There were 5 of us, and maybe it would've been more fun with fewer.
Scary
Not scary
Was anything broken?
No
Not sure. We managed to skip a puzzle but neither we nor the GM knew how.
Live actors
No
Physically active
Not at all
There's a tunnel that you'd struggle to get through if you can't walk bent over, if you were very tall, or if you couldn't crawl. That's the only vaguely physically active bit.
Easy to find location
Yes
We've been there lots of times so we knew the way, but it's easy enough to find using a map app.
Parking
Easy
Multiple nearby car parks.
