The First of Them

We thoroughly enjoyed the story told within the hefty case that is ‘The First of Them’. Multiple boxes segment the game and allow for the puzzles to flow into one another. It also gatekeeps narrative plot points so that the game can tell a story rather than simply presenting a theme. The experience benefits from being a rental tabletop escape game experience because the parts are that cut above—the variety of props are durable, dynamic and unique. These props couldn’t exist in a purchasable tabletop game because the cost would be astronomical. So, with that in mind, borrow ‘The First of Them’ and enjoy the wonderfully constructed boxes of puzzles and explore the impending apocalypse.

This is another awesome escape room made by Social Escape Rooms. It was so interactive and so much fun to complete. The puzzles were fun and there were lots of them (following on with the theme of all their rooms). We have LOVED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF SOCIAL ESCAPE ROOMS!!! You have to try the portable one too!

My friends and I had played all of Social Escape’s rooms and loved every one, so when I saw they had a portable escape room, I knew it was a must do! The box was way larger than I thought, and contained a huge amount of items, clues and padlocks to solve! My friends and I absolutely loved it, and were blown away by the puzzles! It really felt like you were playing an escape room, with puzzles following each other sequentially (and some could be solved at the same time). Opening a new briefcase really felt like entering a new room! If you think this is like your typical play-at-home escape room box, you would be completely wrong. I promise you, the puzzles are way cooler than folding or cutting pieces of paper! When we finished the box, it felt like there was certainly enough to be equivalent to an hour escape room. I was just sad there’s no more like this! Thanks again Social Escape!

Wasn't sure what to expect with a portable escape room you can rent and take home for the night, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions we've made! This is essentially a full escape room encapsulated in one big box. The production value is at least on par with most IRL escape rooms, with props and puzzles all custom designed and built. The game flow was also amazing, with an online hint system you can consult if stuck (though we didn't need it). Highly recommended for enthusiasts or curious players alike. Great for gatherings or family fun at home. If you're not sure because of the price, you can share it with another group and split the price (reset instructions are included).
