Papa Bonnetti’s Pizzeria has the BEST pizza in town. Sure, they may be a mob front; and yeah, they have a bit of a pest problem; but Papa Bonnetti treats every customer like famiglia. He knows every face and every order by heart. It would be a real loss if they were to get shut down over a little rat problem. Papa Bonnetti needs your help to ferret out the rat & get rid of the bugs. Can you save your favorite pizzeria in time?

50 escape rooms

It is such a bummer to have memories of a place that just no longer lives up to the expectation. I've done just about 60 rooms at this point, and back in 2018 or 2019 did three rooms here, "A.I.R: In Search Of: Episode 1" and Egyptian themed room, "Queen Anne's Revenge", and "DEFCON-1"; all of which I consider some of the most interesting and well-themed rooms I've ever done, with puzzles I still have yet to see anywhere else. Maybe it is a bit of over-experience at this point on my end, but the quality of rooms here have dropped substantially. The puzzles are easier, the theming is looser, and the attempts to reinvent the wheel by making it less about "escape" just unfortunately miss the mark.

Gameplay

Confusing introduction to the room; just a bit too much information which is clearly a reaction to an unclear premise off the start. We really don't need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to escape rooms, it truly is ok to make the goal to escape.

Atmosphere

The theming was cute and mostly well done, there was a lot of funny decorations and props.

Particularly interesting or different

No

Unfortunately the premise was just too simple. Had we not been trying to be sure we explored everything we could, could have been done in under 30 minutes as the solution to the "crime" we had to investigate was almost immediately obvious. The objects we had to find that were supposed to be hidden well thematically were almost all just out in the open.

Story

It was tough to keep track of the things we felt we needed to, but in the end it didn't really even matter as the plot was very weak and the answer obvious from nearly the get-go. An overexplained introduction was the primary culprit there, however given the "goal" of the room there likely isn't a better way to explain why we are there.
