271 escape rooms

Went during a 50% off promotion and not sure I think it was worth even that price. The other review here was very similar to our experience. I’ll add that a large heavy door frame at the very end of the room started to fall over when we pulled open the door. So that was a fun added health and safety jumpscare. We (and the GM) had to hold it upright as it literally felt like it was about topple over. I think there are elements of a decent room in here. The story is creative, I like when you have to be following the narrative. The second part of the escape seemed to be an extra challenge portion (I think?) which I like the idea of. But just so much stuff on the basic customer experience aspect of escape rooms was left so much to be desired. And for the price it’s wild, so many other higher quality 90 min rooms at the same price or cheaper

0/10 *Do NOT go to this business* Parking - was limited. We had to park across the street. When we arrived, we entered into an establishment that smelled overwhelmingly of smoke. It was dirty and there were boxes and stuff all over the place. We were then escorted into a room that had a large poker table with chairs and looked like it was used for gambling in the off hours. We had to wait until they retrieved the payment machine for us. There were other rooms that had Mahjong tables and other gambling equipment. This experience was NOT cheap and we thought from all the online reviews and “awards” this room won that it would be worth the price. There was also nowhere to leave our coats, bags and phones. Not that we would have been willing to leave it there at this point. We were in for a ride. The hosts did not speak English well so it was difficult to understand anything they were saying. That didn’t bother us initially but it made getting clues extremely difficult. The host also looked like they had just woken up, there were also 5 other random employees in the establishment that were in sweats and flip flops. Nobody was friendly and looked at us as if we had disturbed their afternoon. We were taken to our room which we had to enter through the back doors. As soon as we got in the next building there was this absolutely awful smell that permeated the entire game. It was nauseating. From the start, we could tell that the room was dirty, and apart from the smell, it was dark (they told us to use our flashlights from our phones). There was a poorly produced video that we watched throughout the game (no animation) and the story was subtitled from this video. In fact, a good 10 minutes of game time was devoted to watching this video. Many of the puzzles did NOT work and we had to pry open with our fingers. The main room was dirty, props were broken, there was dust everywhere and the smell was horrific. The walls were thin so you could hear all the sounds and voices from the other games. The construction of the rooms was poor and everything felt like it would fall apart or break. There was also a dead cockroach stuck in the lighting fixture. Game play was basic. Locks everywhere. In fact, they used the same 3 digit code on 3 separate locks. The music audio for the game was so loud you couldn’t hear the clues. At one point there were flashing lights for a Morse code clue but the flashing lights were strobing and I wonder if they warn people with epilepsy conditions. The game master also randomly jumped on the walkie talkies throughout the game to walk us through the next clues without prompting. However we could not understand anyone due to their accents which was unfortunate. It made things more frustrating having to ask them to repeat themselves. Overall, The game play was absolutely horrible and I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to leave an escape room so badly before and just get out of there. This has to be the worst experience I’ve ever had. I do not understand why they charge so much for this experience because I would not even go back if I had a free game. This location was extremely dirty, smelled horrific and was a complete waste of time and money. Please avoid this establishment at ALL COSTS. Do NOT believe the 4.9 Google rating and reviews, instead read the 1 star reviews that they have hidden under all the fake 5 star reviews. This place should not be in business and reported to the BBB.

Gameplay

The gameplay was very basic. The storyline flowed well but nothing was novel about this place.

Atmosphere

The atmosphere of this business was abysmal. It was dirty, smelled absolutely awful and would probably not pass safety codes.
