Our first room at Escape Reality and the one that was billed as the most difficult, Bunker definitely lived up to the challenge. A different type of room than typical, the barren setup made for an experience that forced us to engage with all areas of our surroundings. Some challenging puzzles that required a bit of teamwork and working through a finer process, details were really important here. Dean and Mel were lovely and more than happy to chat through the room afterwards.

My first experience at Escape Reality and Dean and Mel were super lovely and accomodating from the jump. We started with The Bunker based off its higher difficulty rating and I think this ended up being the right call as it proved to be a challenge but in a different kind of way. The room itself is super bare bones, forcing players to pay attention and scrounge together a very limited number of items to progress. It felt quite grounded in its approach, utilising the standard handcuffs, darkness and kidnapping motifs but implemented in a way that felt more real than straight up gimmicks. I liked it. My main note would be that The Bunker could emphasise more urgency when it comes to the storyline and stakes but I understand that’s not really what most players focus on. Overall this is definitely one worth checking out for a different kind of escape room experience, will definitely be back to try the rest when their new casino room is up and running!
