Professor Vera Violet is a strange, reclusive woman who serves as Dean of Alchemy at the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople. She has been Dean at the University for many, many years and yet still seems like a young woman. Some people suspect that she has found the secret to long life. There are rumors that she has discovered a Philosopher’s Stone that gives her the ability to live forever among other powers such as creating gold out of other metals.
