Escape rooms are another activity at Welk Resorts that are ideally situated to the current travel climate as the rooms are completely private for your family. What makes each property’s escape room unique is a signature theme adapted to the resort’s unique location and personality. In San Diego, guests are challenged by the ‘Survivor Island’, beach-themed escape room.

If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly escape room, come play Survivor Island! I would say that it’s non-linear, beginner friendly, and interactive experience and would be perfect for new Escape Room Enthusiasts! Survivor Island is located at The Welk Resort, and what a unique thing about this escape room is that it’s one of the (additional costs) amenities on site, so it’s not necessarily as accessible to the general public. The gameplay and set design are impressive with the space that was utilized and crafts a perfect blend between mechanical, lock-and-key, and divide-and-conquer techniques. I would highly recommend checking this escape room out!
The gameplay was very smooth and structured. This is a non-linear escape room, so you may divide and conquer, but each puzzle led to another very well. The transitions fairly easy and there were a few fun Aha Moments!
Such an immersive room! I truly enjoyed how it was beach themed and there was ACTUAL sand in the room. That was pretty cool and made you feel like you were on Survivor Island!
Not scary
This is a non-scary, family-friendly escape room. No need to worry about being scared or any live actors.

Survivor Island hits exactly what you need for family and friends in a resort atmosphere. I had fun with the rudimentary, non-linear design. The concept was fun! I felt like I could be at a pop up escape room at the beach. I recommend this room not to be challenging but for a nice time while at the resort.
