The Great Train Heist

Excellent use of their location’s history. One of the most solid AER rooms I have done, so surprised to hear it was one of their hardest. Nothing overly challenging, more so just a few twists and an insane amount of things hidden that you had to find (telling us there was one more thing to find was the only clue we actually needed). There was a lot to find and do so that may be where this difficulty comes in. It had a really fun ending and the decor was spot on, it felt very old timey inside. The only downside, which is common in their rooms, are the subtle openings when you solve something. We didn’t always know if we solved a puzzle and what exactly opened. Sometimes it opened what we expected, sometimes it opened something in another room which left us scrambling for a few minutes trying to see if and what we had opened.

This was our second time at this location, having had a not so great GM experience in the first. Gave this a second chance and, although the game was challenging, the GM really broke the experience for us again. She was quite friendly but we felt she didn't monitor the room well. Many details in full review. The games at this location aren't bad, but it really feels like the experiences are diminished by the staff. In addition, there was running and yelling right outside our door at one point that was so violent as to cause items we were working on to fall! Very distracting. I'm disappointed because we really wanted to enjoy ourselves and come back, but I'm afraid we probably won't return to this location.

this game was such a great idea for Amazing Escape to introduce to this location since it was built at an old train station. the atmosphere was great and it truly paid homage to the old train station in freehold.

Very fun game with great theming.
