Wild West Heist

Unfortunately, they can’t all be winners, and this one feels like it fits pretty firmly in the “good concept, bad execution” camp. Great set design, and really nice detailing gets undermined and hampered terribly with boring, needlessly obtuse puzzles, and math. TONS OF MATH. This much math in an escape room should be illegal at this point. We’re not in the 2010s anymore. It feels antiquated and just plain lazy. They even warn you as you enter some people don’t like the room because it has “some math”. “Some math” is putting it lightly, with probably 75-80% of the room revolving entirely around math problems. If that sounds fun to you, you’ll have a great time. I honestly don’t remember history books recounting outlaws in the Wild West spending time doing their addition and multiplication tables while robbing banks. Which is a shame because what is in the room is quite polished and well constructed. The space is very nicely built, with mostly thoughtful and period faithful design. There are the few odd, “out of place” quirks here and there, with the biggest offense being most of the puzzles just do not match the theme at all. The logic and the setting are completely incongruent with one another and severely detracts from the overall experience. I never like giving a thumbs down, but I can only recommend this if you have an appreciation for set design and are curious about what they built. Or, if you are a lover of math tables and enjoy spending most of your days doing school age problems with cyphers. This is very much an introductory room for beginners, but I really wouldn’t recommend this one as their first either, as the lack of fun might put them off escape rooms forever. Try any of this company’s other rooms before playing this.

Room was well designed and decorated. There were lots of cool props and everything flowed well. It was challenging but not to difficult.

This was a really fun one. Medium difficulty is pretty accurate here so when they say 3 out of 5, I believe it. Had some fun puzzles, immersive and themed well, and great for families. Worth doing as a starter room as well

Fun game, but not particularly different, or challenging. I would say it is great for first time players, or new groups and definitely wouldn’t recommend going with a group bigger than four as my group of just two escaped with almost 30 minutes left.
