El Paso whispers of a restless spirit, La Llorona, the Weeping Woman. Maria, whose beauty was matched only by her sorrow. Driven by a jealous rage, she drowned her children in the Rio Grande, a desperate act she would soon regret. Now, her sorrowful wails echo through the night as she searches in vain for her lost children. Trapped in an abandoned hacienda on the outskirts of El Paso, you stumble upon Maria’s tragic tale. The air is heavy with her despair, the walls whispering of her pain. Legend says she cannot find peace until her lost blue pendant necklace, a memento of her lost love, is returned to her. Solve the mysteries within these walls, find the necklace, and escape before La Llorona, driven to madness by grief, claims you as her own.

LOVED the theming on this one. The designers built a dark and spooky bayou homestead haunted by “La Llorona”, a legendary figure in local folklore - the spectre of a woman who went insane and drowned her children. The spooky theming meshes well with the puzzles that had some fun, original twists. The puzzles themselves were approachable and fair with a few original designs which are pretty memorable. Overall a really good room that I am glad to have experienced.
Gameplay was accessibly straightforward with a few moments of original interaction, about the right mix for our group.
Loved the theming on this one. Creepy and atmospheric with spooky audio and lighting. The atmosphere here was one of the best parts of this room!
Proprietors are friendly and chatted with us afterwards and recommended other (competitor) escape rooms and local eateries.
Yes
I loved how it had a spooky theme based on local folklore.
The story is based on a local legend about a woman who drowned her children and becomes a malignant undead presence. The story is compelling and original and the puzzles had some fun ideas that helped reinforce the theme.
Hard
There were a few challenging places, but nothing that seemed obtuse or unfair.

Spooky
Our group doesn’t like the really scary escape rooms, but they were able to do this one. At the same time, it really scratched that spooky vibe that I love in my escape rooms, so it was an almost perfect scare factor.

The puzzles seemed pretty accessible for the most part. I don’t think a wheelchair would get into the tighter spaces.
