Rise and shine, my friends. You're probably wondering where you are. I'll tell you where you might be. You might be in the room where you die. What do the wicked see when they look into the mirror? I see you as pathetic. So are you going to watch yourself die here today, or do something about it? Let the games begin..

Another port over from an existing room, we breezed through this having previously played versions elsewhere. A classic for a reason, the Saw theme lends itself extremely well to an escape room and this room was no exception. The set design is overall probably grander and more impressive than the Hawthorn version I played but the removal of the shower is a bit of a shame as it’s probably my highlight of the original room. The puzzles were clean and well executed however I’m not sure “remastered” is the right word. I’d say 80-90% of the puzzles are similar to the Hawthorn venue, probably not worth it if you’ve played any of the previous Hacksaw iterations.

This is actually the third iteration of the classic Hacksaw game originating in Rush's Hawthorn venue and having played the original many years ago, I can safely say that this version (comparatively) is really solid! Definitely a larger and more immersive/detailed build, there were plenty of changes for the better and some for the worse (bring back the shower cubicle!). The puzzles in this remaster keep the essence of the original while being easy enough to appeal to a wider demographic of players; nothing particularly groundbreaking but still interesting enough to keep us engaged from end to end. Overall a super well-rounded, classic room!
