46 escape rooms

Upstairs at Escape History, there's a fantastic large room where the first thing you encounter is a bar. In the center of the room stands a long table, and along the sides are eight smaller tables, each equipped with a work lamp and closed compartments secured with combination locks. For groups of approximately 10 to 50 people, Escape History offers a team-building experience that can be used by companies or for larger birthday events. The concept involves dividing participants into teams that compete against each other to be the first to solve all the puzzles. In addition to the tasks at the tables, there are several stations with riddles that teams must visit and solve along the way. These stations appear in different sequences for each team to avoid bottlenecks, making it difficult to tell whether you're ahead or behind compared to the other teams. The room is spacious and beautifully designed, and the individual stations with their props are impressively crafted. We were allowed to play the room with just four people, competing individually against each other. This created a different dynamic, as there was no teammate to collaborate with, and each person had to rely on their own ability to solve all the puzzles. Normally, there are multiple people per team, and it's a great way to play a clearly escape room–inspired game in a competitive format. As with Escape History’s other rooms, everyone gets to complete the experience, but the tasks typically take around 1.5 hours. Out of the four participants, only one made it through without any hints, and there was a 30-minute difference between the first and last to finish. Hints are available upon request, and the challenges test your memory, senses, and logic. The central table works well for gathering the teams as they finish, where they can sit and enjoy their victory while watching the remaining players still battling through. Having prior experience with escape rooms is an advantage, but not a requirement. Anyone up for a brain-teasing challenge can have a great—and perhaps more festive—experience here compared to a traditional escape room.
