We played Ruins Jr and had a blast! Though it’s not quite as grand as its big brother in Nashville (I hear), it was still a great time! Definitely on the easier side, though some tricky puzzles slowed us down. Solid set and detailed environment. Definitely good to get a different game out to California. Can’t wait for Operation Yeti! Will was a great game master!
Smaller space but didn’t go easy on the puzzles
Standard TEG quality
Will was great! Birdie was awesome!

Great room and still remains the best TEG room. For the longest time this was only available out in Nashville but now out here. The rooms are similar but not the same. If you have the ability to go to Nashville I would recommend that as the games end quite differently but this location added some new puzzles to perhaps counterbalance the lack of ending in comparison to the OG. Tons of fun and a sight to see.

No thank you. I completely agree with Beatcal’s comment regarding your ridiculous shared room policy. I’ve done nearly 30 rooms in SD, and this is the only one that forces players to pay the price for 8 people just to block the room. That’s absurd. Why would anyone want to play in a room designed for 4–5 players at its best—with 7 people, including 2–3 total strangers? That completely ruins the experience. What are you thinking huh?

This was a fun room! The decorations were top notch, the experience was very immersive, the puzzles were in perfect condition, and the staff was extremely friendly. This was my 52nd room (46W - 6L) which I played with two other adults with similar statistics. I still consider myself a bit of a novice because I ride the coat-tails of one of my teammates. We finished with 8:33 remaining, but we needed five hints - ugh. We usually play without hints, but we would not have understood one puzzle without hints. I recommend playing this room with a group of 3-4 players. I would also recommend using your phone flashlight. The room is mostly linear, however, I think you can work on two puzzles simultaneously (but probably not more than that). My only criticism is Escape Game's policy of shared bookings. I feel like TEG is the last business to have this policy. But in their defense, we asked that no one join our group today and they kept our room closed for just us. Thank you!
The intro video was pretty funny and the room was decorated wonderfully! The story flowed well and the story was novel for us (we only have 52 games under our belts).
The set design was top notch! The special effects (sounds, lighting, props, games) were great and in perfect working condition.
Our GM (Paloma) was very friendly and helpful with her hints.
Yes
I really liked the room and the story. It was interesting and different for me since I have only played 52 games. But any room with a Lost City or Egyptian theme is fun, in my opinion.
The plot was memorable, especially the funny intro video. Quite a few of the puzzles were novel for me.
Hard
TEG rates this room as 6/10, but I would say it is a little harder than that (based on my experience of 52 games). We needed five hints which is unusual for us. So maybe 7/10 or 8/10 depending on your group size and experience?
High tech
There were a few mechanical elements, but for the most part the puzzles are high tech.

We played as a group of three, but an extra brain might have been helpful.
Not scary
The lighting is dim so I recommend bringing your phone flashlight. We won't play scary rooms.
10
The theme is fun for kids! I suggest 10 years old just based on a typical 10 year old attention span, but if you have a younger enthusiast, by all means, include them.
No
Everything was in perfect condition.
No
We won't play rooms with live actors. yikes
Somewhat
There is the usual scurrying around, but nothing strenuous.
I think a player should have all of their senses for this experience.
Yes
