Prison Break

Oh so sad .. this was our 21st escape room and the first one we didn't escape. There are several rooms and the gamemasters told us we only had 2 puzzles left to escape, but we just ran out of time. There were 2 glitches during the game, too, which kind of ruined the mood. It is definitely a challenging room. What we've learned from The Escape Games is that they provide a lot of materials up front that you may not need until later on in the game (maybe a few rooms in). You have to remember to not spend too much time trying to figure out what the book or key you just unlocked is for ... like the other TEG games, their theming is masterful and very movie-like. Very immersive. We enjoyed it but were so depressed to not have completed it in time. Also - our team tries to escape without asking for clues or hints. Shortly after starting the game, the gamemaster was already giving us unsolicited clues, which we quickly asked him to stop. We probably would have escaped the room had we not run into any glitches or had accepted more hints. If you are a newer player, I would not start with this one (unless you are ok with having them help you along with hints). Note that all TEG games are public (others can join if you don't have the full group of 8 players), unless you pay for the full room to make it Private. They offer a 50% discount on the additional spots you have to pay for.
