We were really looking forward to this room and like to think of ourselves as amateur escape room players. Having over 30 rooms under our belt. We liked the atmosphere of this room and thought it was really neat, but we didn’t really get a chance to solve anything as the GM kept talking over the speaker before we could even stop in ponder over the puzzles. They give you three clues if you choose to use them, but he was hand holding us the entire time, telling us what puzzles we should be solving in what we shouldn’t, before we were even allowed to consider what the next step should be. We got so frustrated because the GM kept interrupting that I quit halfway through the game.
Halfway through the game we completely quit. The GM wouldn’t stop talking on the speaker long enough to figure anything out.
We couldn’t get immersed because the GM wouldn’t stop interrupting and walking us through the room. We didn’t want any help.
We hated this experience.

This escape room was Hauntingly Boo-tiful! What Backstage Escape Games does well with this room it’s perfect balance of spookiness and aesthetic without being too scary while also intertwining team work, communication skills, and storyline together. My favorite parts of this room were the Transitions, varieties of puzzles, the immersion of this room, and the set design. This room had a lot of high tech, but it just made the room more spookier and interactive. I would recommend a team of 2-4 players because of the physical space. It is rather small and to have more engagement, 2-4 players would be more ideal. We played with just the 2 of us, so we were able to escape and interact with each other and the puzzles. Just be aware that this is a group booking escape room, so there’s a high chance that you might be placed with other individuals.
The game play was so smooth and flowed really well with one another! I appreciated how interwoven the clues were with the storyline and everything just made sense.
This room was SO immersive and spooky (without being super scary or anything). With the set design and physical space that it had, Backstage Escape Games did a really fantastic job with the sound and background music, complexities of puzzles, and how they were interwoven into the story. The Transitions were impressive!
Our Game Master was pretty decent. They were attentive and kept us on track. They were super busy though since we played during spring break, so we didn’t get to have a lot of time to debrief and learn more about the room unfortunately. But our game master herself was phenomenal!
High tech
This room relied heavily on high technology but still such a great room! Due to the high tech, it made the room more paranormal, spookier, and immersive.

I really enjoyed this room! It was darker than most rooms I’ve been to, so that was a little challenging, but I really loved the set-up. Our group was fortunate to end up being the only ones in the room; I was a little nervous that we might end up with other people with us, but I think because of the time of year we went, no one else booked during our same slot. The game master was great. The challenges were really hard. They let us play longer than the hour so we did finally finish, but not within the hour time limit. We also needed lots and lots of hints, lol. Overall, it was really great! I really enjoyed it.

Puzzles made sense and were engaging. Unfortunately, I had a less than great experience because of the group I was in. However, don't let that take away from the room itself, which was a lot of fun.

This escape room was extremely fun, very interactive, a bit challenging, because I am new at escape rooms, but overall a great time

This room was one of my favorite rooms of all time, the technology they use to make the room happen were amazing. The storyline was great and the flow of the room was perfect. This room is a little creepy and would not be suited for everyone, but for anyone who can handle a little spookiness it’s perfect!

This is one of the best rooms. Awesome set, very immersive, lots of different rooms. One of our faves.

Incredible room. Amazingly scenic, great story and just a nice level of spookiness without being scary. Unique creative puzzles, nice use of well thought out tech when needed, I just loved everything about this room and just squeaks out Kraumpus Dark Winters Night to take first place but it was close, that room was just as special.

The game itself is fine - n it particularly mind blowing, but fun. Staff in general were okay, not particularly welcoming, but not bad. I don’t like public rooms, but to put us in when we’re on time and then 6 more people 5 minutes late felt sloppy and rude.

“The Haunting of Hyde House was without a doubt the standout escape room in the region.“
