What a unique experience. Totally worth doing. The forced public rooms created an interesting composition of 3 experienced escapers and 4 people that have never done a room escape. The larger group wasn’t a hindrance. The ambiance was amazing, from the atrium, to the entry and as we progressed through the game. The experience is more of a story than an escape room. We look forward to any future rooms.

Great atmosphere! Has a points system instead of a timer. Love the guy at the front desk.

Himitsu Station is the real deal. Very immersive from the second we stepped into the lobby, like we were transported to a late 90s Japanese train station. The highest attention to detail I’ve seen in a long time. Puzzles were not overly difficult, lots of searching. Clear, fun gameplay, cinematics, and set. Tyler was a wonderful host, and the owners are super awesome as well. This is the best room in the state of Utah, and I’m very glad we planned a trip out to experience it.

Like another reviewer claimed - STOP READING AND JUST BOOK IT! Best escape room experience I've ever had. From the moment you enter the building you are immersed into the story you are about to take part of. Tyler - our host - was absolutely incredible and has the perfect response for everything we asked. I don't want to give too much away, but I wrote a little more about the gameplay/experience below if you are interested without giving anything away.
Gameplay was abnormal to how a "typical" escape room worked. The goal: collect as many "soul coins" as you can. You can get these by finding them, completing tasks, unlocking secrets etc. No matter what, your team will get to experience everything and every room. Puzzle difficulty is a WIDE spectrum so the gameplay is perfect for everyone. To give some perspective, Tyler (our host), claims that the average 6-8 person group will collect 16 soul coins, our team collected 25 (although we thought we did awful 😂), and the best he's seen is 50 (he mentioned this isn't even CLOSE to the max a team could collect).
Atmosphere was INSANE!!!! The time, detail, and care put into every inch of that building is unmatched.

This room is on par with the ones in Japan. Very immersive, fun storyline and challenges and puzzles were very unique. This was more than just trying to escape but an experience on a different level! Be ready to leave America and step foot in Japans Himitsu Station.

One of my Top 5 experiences ever! Stellar design and layout. Arrival at Himitsu Station The sign flickered in the rain. I had arrived at Himitsu Station, the first stop on my way to Akihabara Electronic Town. They say the Shopkeeper of Dreams still waits there, surrounded by stalls that bustle in forgotten languages. Inside, the station air felt thicker than outside. The tiled walls seemed to listen. I waited on the platform, clutching my case, awaiting my turn. 駅長タイラー Ekichō Tyler, the station master, appeared behind the counter and spoke softly. “The train will come soon. And when it does, you’ll be ready to find what was lost.” That left me puzzled. He left, but the train never came. The platform lights buzzed and dimmed, leaving only the soft glow of that strange vending machine in the corner. A pink cat’s face smiled back at me, its eyes too alive for something made of metal. I found a stray coin under the bench, inserted it into the machine, pressed my selection… and the world shifted. The tiles peeled into light, the air bent around me, and suddenly I was standing in a market that stretched beyond sight. Neon stalls flickered with foreign symbols, and vendors whispered in tongues I couldn’t name. This wasn’t Akihabara as I remembered it. It was an alternate version that traded in something far rarer than electronics and nicknacks. Every stall-keeper offered sundries containing fragments of dreams, memories. and ethereal identities. The currency were these unique copper coins. I could feel these hum like heartbeats in my hand. Somewhere in that endless maze, the Shopkeeper of Dreams was waiting, smiling behind a wall of porcelain Maneki Cats, ready to make his trade. “Every coin here hums with a memory. Every bargain takes a little more of who you were,” the shopkeeper said. “How much are you willing to forfeit?” I was taken aback by this offering. Apparently, here… the currency was souls! I wasn’t prepared to make such a decision. He continued, “Maybe you can make it back. Maybe not. The ones who wander through our alleys say you never really leave… not completely.” He handed me a spare coin. I held it in my hand and felt it pulse. It’s mine… or maybe just a piece of something that once was. If I ever find my way back, it won’t be to the same reality. And if my soul survives, it’ll be different too, threaded with whispers from this place. The question isn’t if I’ll return. It’s who I’ll be when I do.

I love the theming but not a fan of the concept of collecting as many coins as possible. I would play this for the theming but don’t expect to see everything the first time.
