The Grey Skull Society has ruled from the shadows for generations, their power sealed in a single ring passed from leader to leader. That ring now lies inside Sanford Bank & Depository—a bank known for protecting the darkest secrets of the criminal underworld. Our original crew spent months planning the perfect heist. They discovered a forgotten sewer line sealed off decades ago… and a hidden access point right here in this maintenance closet of Escape Artists. But just before launch, the team was arrested for another job they did. You’ve got 75 minutes. That’s how long the bank’s security guard is out. Inside, you’ll face the most advanced mainframe security system 1985 had to offer. Your job: infiltrate the vault, steal the ring, and vanish through the bank’s VIP exit—because coming back through this room would blow our cover. This isn’t just a robbery. It’s your best shot at bringing down the Society.

We love Escape Artists and had been awaiting this new room opening. It did not disappoint. We liked that the story was tied to the Gray Skull Society stories from other rooms we had previously played. Light on locks and more high tech, puzzles were fun and at least a couple were very challenging. We play with a team of two and were able to escape with 10 minutes left on the clock. I'm not sure if more people would have helped or hurt (you'll see what I mean if you play). Two thumbs up.

Gameplay

Gameplay was fun and offered some unique challenges. Gameplay was non-linear in some areas so we could work on puzzles simultaneously. Some areas require teamwork and collaboration to be successful.

Atmosphere

Theming, sets and props were all top notch and fully immersive. Special effects were great and added a lot to the atmosphere.

Customer service

Our GM was fun and enthusiastic. I feel terrible that I can't remember her name but she was great.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

The story for this room was unique even though it had some bank heist elements and the gameplay reflected that.

Story

Loved that the Gray Skull Society story was continued here. That made the plot memorable and unique to Escape Artists.

Difficulty

Medium

Overall medium but one puzzle was HARD. Curious to see if eventually gets tweaked a bit.

Game tech

High tech

A few locks but more high tech.

Ideal number of players

We were successful with two players and I think at least one area might be more difficult with more than two.

We played this opening day. Dan was great! This game was very fun! Not overly focused on number/letter locks, more tactile in nature. Great for beginner/moderate players. Tactile puzzle dominance usually isn’t my jam, but this one was kitschy and cute! I play as a duo and we had a blast.

Tried this one opening day. I had wrapped this location last year, I was really excited to try out a new game at this location. Dan was our GM, and it was a fantastic time. I play in a duo, this a room that you may want to have 3-4 people for. I’m going to be sparse on details as per Escape Artists, but I will say if you like the idea of “experiences” (ala Bureau) mixed in with puzzle aspects this room won’t disappoint. The set design was really fun and enjoyable, my only slight disappoint was it looked like some AI art was used for posters, but I can understand niche art for rooms can just be annoying to source.
