A mislabeled crate. A missing portal. And a mission that can’t wait. Nemesis has been disrupting the Keepers of Balance, and it all traces back to the 1970s—when a former CIA agent built his first weapon in a bunker beneath his home. Your task: go back, find the prototype robot, and ensure it never sees the light of day. But what starts in a teenager’s bedroom quickly descends into something much darker. A hidden lab. A countdown. A legacy that refuses to die. The robot can be destroyed. But the future? That’s another story.

The four of us really enjoyed this room. We still liked Temple of Light the best here but this was a close 2nd. Great theme. Fun puzzles/activities. Not as many puzzles/activities as some rooms but it was enough to keep all four of us busy for 45 mins. But, I would not want more than 4 people in this room. There was an in-room actor but she didnt really add much or participate much like the actors in the other rooms. Even still, Keepers continues to create awesome rooms and IMO this is a must do.

Very fun and clever room that links to the 2 previous games. You travel back in time to 1976 to destroy a doomsday robot created by the leader of Nemesis. The game has challenging puzzles and a really cool finish that involves some good hand/eye coordination. We were treated so well by the excellent staff and were able to have snacks and drinks afterwards from our original Kickstarter backing. Highly recommend all 3 games at Keepers. Looking forward to the new game next year in a haunted hotel

What a bizarre mash up of themes. It somehow works, though! The sets, puzzles, and interactions just get more impressive the deeper you go. And it has one of my all-time favorite room reveals. Don’t sleep on this one.

Really large-scale puzzles that were inclusive of all. Very impressive finale.

So goofy! The puzzles reflected the insanity of the game’s central character well.

Solid game with some really great transitions and unique games. When you’re at Keepers doing other rooms this one is well worth doing too!

Our last room there was a power problem and none of the lights for the puzzle came on. We somehow finished the puzzle and then the GM realized it was lit when we asked him to explain the puzzle. He was so apologetic and everything else was so great it did not ruin the experience

I enjoyed this game! With that being said, the style and design of this room felt very different from the other two rooms at Keepers of Balance and I’m not sure that I enjoyed this one quite as much. I think that the sets in their other rooms are more compelling but the puzzles in this room are still very good. I would still recommend this room even though it isn’t my personal favorite at this location!

Gameplay

The gameplay in this room was pretty solid. I really liked most of the puzzles but there were a couple puzzles that were a bit repetitive. The ending of this room fell a bit flat for me even though it was clearly meant to be the most action packed part of the room.

Atmosphere

All of the sets at keepers of balance are astoundingly immersive!

Customer service

The game masters were very welcoming and kind but if I’m being honest, their acting was not very believable which did take away from the other immersive aspects of the room.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Unique plot and design.

Story

The storyline made sense for the game design.

Difficulty

Medium

Some sections of this game were pretty easy, others were a bit more difficult. It was a good balance that I think most groups would be able to feasibly navigate!

Game tech

High tech

No physical locks just like the other games at Keepers of Balance.

We had four people and it felt like an ideal group size.

Accessibility

There are some crawling and climbing elements in this room but I believe that they can be bypassed if needed.

This is the best escape room at KOB! Quest is a more epic (and more must-do) experience but arguably not an escape room at all. On the other hand, System Overlord is much more fun, whimsical and puzzly than Sunken Realm. This isn't on the same level as an Escaparium or even Quest a few literal doors away, but it's an excellent use of space with unique puzzles, varied and high-quality sets, and a wow moment or two. Sarah was awesome actress and made for a good experience!

I enjoyed this room because of its creative execution in the beginning. While there aren’t many puzzles, the ones that are present can be a bit tedious without being particularly difficult. As the game progresses, the number of puzzles tapers off, shifting the focus more toward interactive tasks. Even so, those tasks were subjectively fun.
