Wow, just wow. This was easily the best standalone game on our Columbia/Greenville trip (though Help Wanted edges it out overall since it caps off a three game series), and almost certainly makes my personal top 10% ever. If you're anywhere near Greenville, you need to give this a play. Our GM was a fantastic character, fun to improv with (at times we stopped puzzling just to get to know her character), had in-world ways to convey nudges (great for immersion), and had a good acting range. The set was convincing, and the story beats on point. Puzzles were fair, made sense in universe, and played into the plot well at several points. It's incredible they managed to fit this much story and experience into a 60 minute game, I would have sworn it was longer. Note that this is more of an immersive experience than most escape rooms, so more theatrics, interaction, and heavier emphasis on plot.
Without the GM actor, this would have been a good but not outstanding game. The GM elevated things to amazing.

Plot beats were well executed and puzzles reinforced the story.

4 enthusiasts felt good. 2-3 is probably also fine, though I imagine 2 might give a very different feel to the game.

Spooky most of the time, then gets scarier as the game progresses

We had such a blast with this room! The staff was amazing! We loved the characters and story. The puzzles were fun and challenging. Made it out with only 2 mins to spare! It was scary, but in a fun way. The atmosphere was creepy and immersive. Would definitely recommend!

The best escape room we have ever done as of 2024. So immersive, and our in-room actress was fantastic. We loved that the clues actually felt like part of the story and not just sprinkled in randomly like many other rooms we have come across. The room felt like it had so many surprises and spaces to explore/appreciate! Some of the coolest puzzles we’ve ever seen to! Amazing company.

Love this room so much, even though I’m a scaredy cat. Did it with three people and had a great time!

Starlight Motel isn't just an escape room; it's a fully immersive horror experience. The moment you step inside, you're transported to a seedy 80s motel straight out of a crime drama. This isn't your typical escape room. It's more like a mix of murder mystery and immersive theater. The puzzles are clever and challenging, at times feeling more like detective work than simply unlocking a bunch of locks. The lighting and sound effects create a tense and suspenseful environment, and the jump scares will keep you on edge. But the real star of the show is the actor interaction. You'll need to engage with the actor within the room, improvising your way through the game. This led to some fun missteps on our part and a standout storyline with a heart stopping ending. Escape Artist Greenville has outdone themselves with Starlight Motel. It's no wonder it ranked #82 in the world on the TERPECA 2023 list!

Great set and immersive experience in a new theme we haven’t seen in 80+ rooms. I don’t like scary rooms but I liked this one! A little dark.

Well done set. The actor/GM is very good and adds to the experience. This was the third game we’ve done here and they’re all very good. I’m less into the scary and jump scares so it wasn’t my very top favorite.

8/10 This is a room that if you go in with other amazing players it will make this experience far more fun and memorable. Fun puzzles, great interactions, wonderful use of the space. Go in, get weird, have fun, and enjoy this amazing thrill ride.

SUCH A FUN and amazing room! I won't spoil it just go do it...we were a player of only 2 and it was so much fun. One of my top favorite recent rooms! Grab a friend and head to Greenville if even for a weekend! Such a cute town.
