Welcome to the Evolutions of Games exhibit at the Bangor Escape Rooms Museum of Games. As humanity has evolved over the centuries, so has our ability to fulfill possibly our most primal need: to play games. From thousand-year old games like Go and Mancala through the 90's video games, we have filled our free time with cards, boards, dice and all manner of monsters to defeat. This time, the monsters are the games themselves. Can you play through the millennia of game history in under an hour, or will you be left staring at the two most dreaded gaming words in history: GAME OVER?

I will not allow the fact that we didn't escape cloud my review for the room. The room itself was great. Our performance, however, was not. The set design was a lot of fun if you're an afficionado of board games. We are and this made for an extra treat seeing all the board games displayed as pieces of nostalgia and puzzles in the game. The puzzles were a mixed bag and really stretched us to our limits. A note to players, when you finally open the three door cabinet, make sure there are three sticks/dowels inside. We only had two and it really made it impossible until we asked about it and received the third stick. The puzzles, while difficult, were fair but they took a lot of time. Bringing a team of four and you should be good. We enjoyed the room but not our outcome. We need to come back and make our percentage a little better.

Several times we went down the wrong path and started doing something wrong and time consuming. A nudge to get away from the idea works have helped. The missing stick took a while to be brought to us.
