Mantis
63 escape rooms
The kid in me enjoyed this room! They incorporated the characters in the game and even used "Scooby Snacks" toward game progression. The room starts off on the easier side but the difficulty level increases toward the end - something that may catch you by surprise as you glance at the timer. Would have been ideal if you would've had a chance to literally unmask the villain at the end! But still, there is a mystery to be solved. The puzzles are mostly logic and placement based. There was one tedious puzzle that could be a time drain. The staff is aware of it and may refine the puzzle.
Gameplay
Good use of Scooby Doo elements/characters to keep the game progressing. Flow was linear. This wasn't a pretend-something-like-Scooby-Doo but an actual Scooby Doo attraction.
Atmosphere
Suitable atmosphere for the theme.
Customer service
Friendly staff. Attentive and helpful GM. Nudges were appreciated!
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
Scooby Doo theme was not just a dressing but actually incorporated in the game.
Story
Elements used well. However, not all puzzles were strictly connected to the mystery itself.
Difficulty
Medium
Starts easy. Suddenly you may realize in the second half, things are getting not-so-easy! Experienced players may find themselves having to take center-stage in the last act. Overall, medium challenge level.
