Cool set design and theme. It was a bit too dark and the solutions to the puzzles didn’t really seem connected and had to be brute forced.

Gameplay

Puzzles were a bit disconnected from their solutions. We literally brute forced a few of the puzzles.

Atmosphere

Cool looking set and prop design.

Customer service

Very accommodating GM.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

A few puzzle types I haven’t seen used in any of the other rooms around Reno.

The puzzles were hard enough in their own, but were made extra difficult by low lighting and tiny symbols that you had to find.

One of Key and Code's better rooms! They're doing a good job upgrading some of their older rooms. We had 4 of us and everything flowed well with some fun puzzles! A lot of symbol puzzles.

#################### Important note: If you’ve played a game of this name at Labyrinth in Boise, many of the puzzles will feel very familiar. The two companies collaborated on the design, and the puzzle set appears to be largely the same. ################### + This is Key & Codes best room in all its locations, and one of the best rooms in Reno. The set, sound, and puzzles all work together to create an immersive Viking theme. + The puzzles were thoughtful and layered. There was one in particular that had a simple elegance in its execution and ability to tell a simple Norse tale. + Several puzzles revisit earlier spaces, building naturally on information you’ve already encountered. It gives the room a sense of progression while also helping you observe the space more carefully. + The final puzzle offers a great opportunity for everyone in the team to participate and leads to a fun moment with one of the props. + One of the final props has real heft, and that physical weight makes the moment feel more convincing. + There’s a decent amount to do in the room. We were a group of three—two enthusiasts and one newer player—and we were busy the entire time. - We felt confused on one puzzle that involved pillars and coins. It took us awhile to realize that certain things were only decorative. +/- I LOVED a unique mechanic behind one of the final puzzles, but I don’t think I would have guessed its solution… trial and error. We interpreted the feedback to mean “go find more information” rather than “keep brute forcing it until you find the solution.” A small explanation could have helped us know what was expected. It was also an opportunity to tie it into the larger theme and narrative of the room.

I thoroughly enjoyed this room. The set is really well done and on theme and I kept looking around, enjoying it long after we finished the room. The soundtrack, audio cues, and lighting enhance the experience. The puzzles were all fun and intuitive. I also like the puzzle paths; the first space has one puzzle and then it becomes non-linear with plenty to work on in the second space. These then converge into one puzzle that gets you into another space where it becomes non-linear again, allowing for the team to split up again, until it once again converges for the final puzzle. I love when rooms do this. It allows you to split up and work in multiple puzzles, but then pulls the team back together again at key points in the game. I would say that this is medium in difficulty. Novices may struggle with a couple puzzles, but enthusiasts will probably be fine. This is definitely a top three room in Reno and arguably number one at this point in time. I highly recommend it.

The staff were very friendly and we chatted quite a bit. We also had a very nice conversation with one of the design team members.

Definitely top 3 rooms in Reno. Labyrinth brought this game over from their Boise Location, where it was one of their best, and it’s been brought over quite faithfully. It’s one of the best sets in the area, some of the best puzzles, just an outstanding game. What an honor to meet the designer; Jenkins, and chat escape rooms with him. I highly highly recommend this game.
