The Upside Of Down

There was a lot to like here, but ultimately the game play felt illogical and many of the puzzles just weren’t intuitive. We are experienced players and needed hints throughout to finish the room in time, which was not a common experience for us. It’s always frustrating when you’re helped through a puzzle and then your first thought is, “that was a stretch, who would have put that logic together?” Some of the tech was also wonky which detracted from our experience. Anyway. Gameplay aside, the set design was awesome and very immersive. Super creative and beautifully constructed! Also, the owner/gamemaster is clearly passionate about what he does, and very proud of his business. We loved that as well - his enthusiasm and sense of humor was appreciated. Overall, a decent experience. We didn’t love this room but would still go back to try the others because the gameplay might be better. And we loved the set design and the owner.

I enjoyed the detail of this room. However, I think I would have personally enjoyed the room more if I was up to date on earlier seasons of stranger things. Game master is excellent.

“The Upside of Down” felt unique with a fresh take on puzzles. We enjoyed the puzzles, great set design, and humor of the game-master. We did two rooms today, and look forward to returning for more.

Thought the game was challenging and fun. Loved the decor, props, and storyline. GM helped us out with clues and hints when needed. Would recommend!

This is not your typical Escaperoom. Personally I really struggled with this one. They guided us through the room and that’s why we escaped. But in many cases I personally didn’t see the logic in the puzzels or found it to far fetched. It’s a very themed room and I did not have seen the Stranger Things tv show, maybe that was part of the problem. Missed a flow, felt lost most of the time and after playing 45 escape rooms I haven’t had that experience in a long time.

Not your traditional escape room. This is unlike anything you have done before. I highly recommend watching the series as a lot of things just do not make sense if you haven’t watched it. I found puzzels far fetched and a lot of them required specific knowledge. The host runs the place by himself and I felt like we didn’t get the help we needed. I recommend this room to people that can go in without expectations and don’t compare it to other ‘traditional’ escape rooms.

It’s not like a traditional escape room, it’s more like an immersion into the world of stranger things. Speaking of Stranger Things, you should probably have seen the show for a lot of the things in the room to make sense. In total honesty, a lot of the puzzles were far fetched and confusing. I would only play this if you are a (big) Stranger Things fan and accept that this is an experience and not an escape room
