Prison Escape

Rating: 3/5 - Decent, prison room, nothing outstanding Pros: ➕Many of the props and set material felt real and appropriate to the theme, they even used metal bars. ➕Split start adds an additional, fun challenge ➕Decent variety of puzzles, nothing felt unfair or illogical. ➕More than 1 room/area to explore. ➕Decent amount of tech with some padlocks mixed in ➕Good lighting, we didn't need flashlights. Room for improvement: ➖Set felt a bit plain, not much weathering was done to make it feel real and there wasn't much detail. ➖2 of our 4 players had a lot less to do at the start ➖Prison themes are overdone, there is not much here that stands out or is particularly interesting. I'd recommend 2-3 enthusiasts, 4 felt like too many. My ranking of the 3 rooms here starting with my favorite: 1. Salvation Reactor 2. Prison Escape 3. Old Tavern

This is a pretty average run of the mill prison escape room. Nothing to complain about, but nothing that will blow your mind. One of the puzzles specifically was sort of cool, but again, nothing crazy.

Good room! It’s more or what you might expect in a prison themed escape room. If you haven’t done one of those, then this is a good example of it, though I might not specifically recommend it over, say, The Escape Game or Fox in a Box. My favorite parts were the beginning puzzles where your team is split up and have to use teamwork and clever sharing. The final puzzle was a great logic puzzle too. The set had some good secrets too. Our room was slightly broken: the telephone mechanism wasn’t working and we had to shout out the phone numbers, the screen with our timer didn’t ever turn on, and the final exit mechanism said that our access was denied even though we escaped. Those were relatively minor things, though, and I still had a fun time!

Solid game. It had some meaty logic puzzles and some more standard prison puzzles. The puzzles were logical and fair, but it felt like some of them needed a little extra guidance to help you make the mental connections. Good mix of tech and locks. The set was decent as well. Overall, I would recommend it, but don’t expect more than your standard prison game.
