This was our first physical game by Society of Curiosities (we’ve done virtual ones before), and they’d packed a lot in the box! It doesn’t come with: a huge box or tons of props, which is great for storage and feels ecologically healthy. It does come with: loads of satisfying puzzles and fun integration of virtual/irl and physical/tactile components in the box, plus nice twists. Hint system is good - we failed in the execution of one puzzle and were able to get ourselves back on track without being spoiled.

i’m overly impressed with game given how immersive it becomes with very little when it comes into props, papers and pieces. everything given is just enough as well as given such a proper focus to the details that it can vaguely feel believable when playing. the communication system through SMS and the web media involved makes this whole experience feel like you’re actually in an adventure and not playing a boxed game.

This is a fantastic little game in a box. All of the pieces are very high quality and the puzzles were logical and easy to follow. The mix of physical items, text messages, abstract webpages creates a uniquely immersive experience. Also their hint system is subtle which means it’s easy to get a little nudge without having anything spoiled. You can easily complete the puzzle without marking things, allowing for replay with new friends. I highly recommend these box games.

A neat little mystery-in-a-box. It was perfect for a little bit of puzzling on a Sunday morning - nothing to hard, and the web elements added a fun second layer of searching.

  • an incredibly immersive hunt for pirate treasure that blurs the lines between fiction and reality.

  • [It] didn’t have a ton of components, but everything we received in the mail looked and felt right.
