Between the years 1870 and 1900, Mentryville, a small oil drilling town of 200 residents was an ideal community of modest homes and puritan ideals. A seemingly perfect, quiet town to raise a family... but few know of Mentryville's darkest secret.

What a fabulous, immersive room!! The story was top notch and it was such an interesting and fresh take on a Gen1 room. LOVE the live actor at the center of the narrative AND gameplay (shout out to Jack!). Love the story and the brilliant use of every inch of a small space. One of my fav experiences for sure!
Gameplay was super funβwhat a brilliant spin on a Gen1 room!

Don't worry about following the time and getting lost here, the ghost of Mentryville willl guide you. Very well done room and puzzle design, unique and novel! Shoutout to the live actor giving us his all and interacting with us.

This room, like some other immersive rooms its much more theater with escape elements. There is an actor involved in this room, but the interaction is strictly story driven. Room itself is semi spooky possibly for some, but there's no scary elements just limited to decoration. Atmosphere for the room is excellent, appropriate to the story, and very well done, particularly the table that is a focus for a majority of the room. Keen eyed folks will have their opportunity and another solution. Great room for my 100th!

The Ghost of Mentryville a beautifully crafted game. I would call this room 50% immersive theatre and 50% escape room. They did a great job with the character and storytelling and the craftsmanship in the room was very impressive. It had very good flow and my friend and I both enjoyed it very much. This is a very gen 1 room, but a good one.

This experience is hard to put into words because it raised the bar and blew away all my expectations. Coming in, I knew that we were going to do puzzles with a story as well but the way that this was executed, it was *chefβs kiss*. This room is a masterclass of how you can do so much with a small space, low budget, and limited tech. The entire time, as we were following along with the story, I had a sinister feeling that I was participating in something that I shouldnβt be and I havenβt really experienced that tension before with other live actors. The clues provided to us were also carefully shared in a way that led us to the right direction, while still challenging us to look at the puzzles differently. I wish I could forget (haha) this room so I could play it again! We had a group of four, which I think is the maximum number of people and they tell you right away to immerse yourself in the story. I think a group of 2 could work also! It really depends on who you could be trapped in a small room with and not feel claustrophobic. There is no time limit but most groups finish in 70-90 minutes.

Phenomenal experience for a somewhat dated βGeneration 1β room. The integration of the live actor into the puzzle flow and story was expertly executed. I guess the main reason Iβm hesitant at giving this room a full βheartβ is becauseβ¦. Wellβ¦ i canβt shake the fact that all the puzzles and most of the actual game is a bitβ¦ oldschool. Nearly all, if not all, of the puzzles were combination or key locks. They were very, very, very COOL locks. But all mechanical locks non the less. Iβm sure when this room first opened this room was mindblowing. Unfortunately, compared to some newer and more cutting edge games, Ghost just doesnβt quite cut it any more. That said, we still had a fantastic time, and they really made the most of a tiny space and straightforward components. We still recommend this as a great escape room experience and weβll take this any day over some more copy-and-paste style generic rooms. Ghost had heart, creativity, a whole lot of spookiness, and most importantly: fun.
Solid puzzles. Super fun. Very, very βgen 1.β Dare I sayβ¦ slightly dated? Almost entirely combo and key locks. Fantastic character and story-driven game format. Good flow.
The overall atmosphere was great, mostly thanks to the fantastic actor. The sets themselves are Pretty low-fi, low-tech.
Great staff!

The integration of the actor and the way they interact with the puzzles is the real secret sauce here. Took the room from basic Gen 1 fair to a memorable experience.
Top notch story for an escape room. Very serious and dark though!

They were the best part. Itβs an extremely intimate experience. Small room with just you and the actor. Luckily they were fantastic! Really made the experience.

Itβs not that itβs βhardβ per se, itβs just a little more difficult to find than the average escape room. Top floor of a large corporate office park style building back in the corner.

If youβre at all within driving distance of SoCal, you gotta go check this room out. Itβs a beautifully crafted experience with more twists and turns than I thought a space that small could have. Thank you once again to Tony and Perigee for a fantastic experience!
Pretty linear gameplay. Every puzzle was connected to the story and helped push you forward into the narrative. Some very unique uses of props and set pieces for puzzles that I thoroughly enjoyed figuring out.
The lights and music are pretty minimal so you can hear the actor at any given time, but the lights make it very clear what you are supposed to be looking at every step of the way.
Tony and Perigee were both excellent! Perigee stayed in character extremely well throughout the game, and their hints were cryptic enough to not tell me the whole solution, but helpful enough to get me thinking on the right track.

Medium
This game focuses more on the narrative experience, so the puzzles are fairly straightforward but they are not that simple.
Mechanical
Lighting cues and audio tracks are really the only tech used in this game; everything else is good olβ lock and key. This does not limit the game from being very creative and interesting.

My 2 player group felt very cozy inside this room, though you could definitely go up to the limit of 4 and enjoy it. The more intimate this game feels, the better.
Spooky
The story revolves around pretty dark subject matters, but there are no jumpscares and the actor is on your side the entire time.

16+ just for the subject matter alone, though there are many fragile things that kids could be likely to break.
No
There are some very old locks that may seem broken, but the ghost will tell you what to do to use the locks properly.
Yes
There is a ghost with you the entire time. Their job is not to scare you, but rather to help guide you and tell this story.

You will need to stand the entire game and move around a pretty small space, but there is nothing too physically demanding.
To get to the facility, you will need to climb 2 flights of stairs. The game itself takes place in a pretty small room, so wheelchair users may want someone with them who can navigate tiny rooms, assuming the wheelchair fits to begin with.

Absolutely incredible. Play this game. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Small space, minimal-to-no tech, incredible story, atmosphere, acting, puzzles, and overall execution. PLAY THIS GAME. Perigee was an amazing game master.
Gameplay was perfect. No notes.
Macabre, unsettling, but not scary to us as the players.
Incredible GM.
Yes
Very unique in every way.
10/10 story, very engrossing and perfectly blended with the room and puzzles.
Hard
Certainly not easy, but with a live actor in the room and no time limit, the experience is very approachable.
Mechanical
No tech besides lighting and a couple sound clips. Every puzzle is physical and it really adds to the experience.
2
The space is tiny. 4 could maybe cut it if you're all really good friends, but with the tiny room and a live actor there too, I wouldn't recommend more than 2 or 3.
Spooky
Macabre, unsettling, with very graphic body horror, but nothing directly scary or threatening to the players. Just gross.

A child will not be able to appreciate what makes this game so good.

One live actor in the room at all times.

No climbing, crawling, or large distances to cover.
Requires crouching/getting down to floor level for at least one player. Tight spaces may make wheelchair accessibility difficult. It wasn't too dimly lit, but someone with larger vision problems may have a harder time. We were asked not to use phones at all, including for flashlights, but I wonder if they'd make an exception for those who may need it.

This was our first experience in a room with a live actor. I didn't like it enough to want to do this type of room more than those without a live actor, but I would probably do it again at some point. That being said, the actor was amazing! Despite my 15 year old daughter constantly talking to him like he was her best girlfriend, he remained in character the whole time! A very impressive feat! The room was pretty multi-dimensional for really just being one room. The live actor guided us through each part which was helpful because he was able to gauge when we needed little or extra assistance in our escape. It did have some pretty gory props for those thinking of bringing littles with them. It flowed well and had a pretty linear plotline. A few unexpected customizations to our group as well. There's no timer which was probably appropriate for the room, just not my preference. Overall, would easily recommend.
