Search the theatre and find the stolen jewellery before it’s too late.  The fate of the Brisbane Arts Theatre is on the line. Six invaluable pieces of jewellery that were on loan to the theatre for a recent show have been stolen and hidden in the prop maker’s studio.  The motive may not be as it seems. There are enough clues backstage of the theatre to recover the six pieces and decide what to do with the culprit. However, there is only 60 minutes before the jewelry company returns to collect their items.  Only your quick mind and sleuth skills will be able to locate the pieces and return them before all is lost.  This is one of our harder rooms, so book it to challenge your skills!

The hosts were very kind! We struggled quite a bit and asked for a lot of silly hints, but they replied very kindly and made sure we got to enjoy the room.

An older room with some great mechanical elements. The experience was marred by tired props and padlocks that need replacing and a GM experience that didn’t feel overly attentive.

We figured out an answer, inputted it into the padlock, and it didn’t open despite double-checking that it was aligned correctly as noted in the briefing. We then spent another 10 minutes reworking the answer before asking for a hint, only to be told our original answer was correct. If the GMs were listening and watching, it would make sense for them to step in and alleviate that confusion and frustration by simply prompting the team to be more precise with the padlock. This may not be a problem with the specific GMs we had, but one with the technology and systems built into the venue.

Another electronic puzzle malfunctioned and had no clear way of solving it, aside from lengthy guesswork. Some further iteration would rectify some puzzles to remove any leaps of logic, outside information and to enable greater accessibility for all players, particularly those new to escape rooms. 

The theming was unique for the Brisbane escape room industry and made for interesting theatre-based puzzles. One mechanical prop in particular was fun to interact with. 

For those who have played escape rooms for years, this can be a nostalgic experience that reminds you of what games in the mid 2010s were like. Fun, tricky and driven by great mechanical elements in place of the electronics. I enjoyed looking into each drawer and door that popped open, just to see how it was engineered.

Great room - good old style puzzles and locks. Not straightforward and a good challenge. Great theming in the room and cool props !!

Disappointed, first one we have done at escape hunt and it would be the last.l, if we didn’t get a free ticket to another room. One of the main components was broken, which took 15 minutes of frustration to realise. 
When we got through one room, a staff member walked in because it had triggered something in the other room. 
The story had no flow or correlation.
