The Show Must Go On

We understand that Next Level Escape rooms are a heavily narrated escape experience, but found this room to be too guided. It was almost always the case that after a few minutes of narration, we would complete one simple puzzle with heavy instruction and little opportunity to complete independently. This repeated through out the entire experience. Notwithstanding the design in this room, our game master was fantastic. This room is unique and the design was excellent. The ideal target audience is probably groups with young children and could make for an enjoyable experience.

1/10 one of the most unique rooms I’ve ever done. It was more just listening and following a story rather than an actual escape room. Our GM was amazing but I was really bored, I only enjoyed the end.

This is probably the most unique experience I’ve ever had so far. A narrative-based escape room where you follow the flow of the story to solve puzzles. The room is quite small but enough to hold the fun! The story is a ridiculous and hilarious play which you as the backstage workers have to make sure it runs smoothly. GM plays an essential role in the whole experience, bringing the story to life and making us feel like we are actually backstage workers. Puzzles are very well-connected to the story, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the hilarious atmosphere of the play. The final part of the experience is definitely the highlight, we had a lot of fun and the result was amazing. I personally am not the biggest fan of this format, as I much rather solving the puzzles ourselves at our own pace. Puzzles are also a bit too easy for my liking due to a bigger focus on the story itself. But nevertheless this room is definitely fun! Shout out to Natanyah for being an amazing actress and game master. Would recommend!

Completed this room with 4 people. Narrative-based room that was heavier on the story, which is mentioned on the website. This is Next Level’s only linear room and is great for first timers and there is a narrator/character who guides you through each part of the story/room/puzzles. I enjoyed the narrative which was hilarious but as I had already done a few escape rooms before I was itching to explore the room rather than be confined to the story structure. Nevertheless, a lot of creative and interesting puzzles and a hilarious GM and storyline. Definitely worth a try!

This escape room was like nothing we have experienced before! Personally I prefer more challenging rooms that are of a typical escape room structure but this was a nice change and it was clearly explained on the website. Our game master Myhka was fantastic at bringing the game to life.
