Gathered intelligence indicates that illegal, invasive genetic experimentation on live test subjects are being conducted at Dr. Irov’s laboratory. As members of the Joint Task Force of Investigations, you have been tasked to gather and retrieve information from the laboratory in order to gain a full understanding of the situation. However, after an unexpected turn of events, what started off as a small scale infiltration mission quickly blows out of proportion.

Dr. Irov’s Lab at Puzzled Room Escape is an engaging and immersive escape experience with a well-crafted atmosphere that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The puzzles are clever, challenging, and rewarding, requiring solid teamwork to crack. You’ll definitely need a team to get through—we tackled it with four players and just made it in time! If you’re looking for a fun and brain-teasing escape room that keeps you thinking until the very last second, this one is well worth a try. Highly recommend!

Gameplay

The puzzles were complex and challenging, maybe a bit much for first-timers. But with a little teamwork (and a lot of guessing), we eventually got through. There were definitely some spots where we felt a bit stuck, though.

Atmosphere

The set design was cool, with some nice interactive touches. It was fun seeing the other room’s group on the screen, even if it made us a bit envious! Overall, the decor and lighting did a great job adding to the lab vibe.

Customer service

Our game master was energetic and really added to the experience, making sure we felt immersed from the start.

A rather challenging room with opportunity to better signpost and diversify the puzzle offerings. Colour is used heavily throughout this game, so this may not be an overly accessible experience. Some interesting multi-step puzzles can be found throughout the experience, and it allows a larger team to split up and work on multiple puzzles immediately before merging into a linear path towards the game’s end. The experience offers an interesting concept by allowing players to engage as the narrative counterpoint to ‘Monkey Run’, with some limited player interactions in game. Ultimately, ‘Dr. Irov’s Laboratory’ toys with the idea more than executing a fully fledged trans-room experience. For a unique head-to-head experience, this may be the room (coupled with ‘Monkey Run’) for you. Helen was a kind host with a vibrant personality.

Gameplay

Leaps of logic and inconsistent signposting coupled with a plethora of colour puzzles and red herrings ultimately breeds confusion and uncertainty rather than game flow.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere and aesthetics were good, the interactive element that connects the game to ‘Monkey Run’ was very interesting!

Customer service

Helen was a kind host.
