I had a fab time in the Riddle Room Dungeon, escaping with a couple of minutes to spare. It’s one of their older rooms but it’s aged well. Mostly padlock-based but a great variety of creative puzzles to find codes and keys. My GM Ren was a delight - accommodated my last-minute solo booking, very engaging, even gave me a little behind-the-scenes tour of the tech after I escaped.
This was a fun room. Granted, there’s a lot of padlocks, but there was a lot of variety in the way the keys and codes were hidden around the place, including a few techniques I hadn’t seen before.
A relatively simple open space, mostly. The lighting was great (atmospheric but not too dark to read). I liked how many props were medieval-themed where they could’ve been generic.
OMG I felt like a rockstar! They accommodated me, a solo player, at short notice, they didn’t charge me a 2-player surcharge, the owners said hi when I arrived and my GM Ren gave me a behind-the-scenes tour after I escaped to show me the tech.
Particularly interesting or different
No
An enjoyable room but not mindblowingly different.
The narrative was mostly the initial premise - escape the dungeon. It wasn’t really built upon in the puzzles. The themed props in the puzzles were a good reminder of the setting.
I took almost the entire allotted time as an experienced solo player.
Lots of padlocks plus some magnet sensors.
There are plenty of puzzles in here to keep 3 people busy.
Minimum age
Some puzzles require reading, others require height. I’d recommend an adult supervise younger players.
The room is from 2017 and some props are showing wear but they still worked fine.
Physically active
Somewhat
A little reaching and one puzzle requires some foot speed.
Accessibility
Requires height, vision, mobility. One limited space. At least one able-bodied participant required.
