The events surrounding the death of novelist Edgar Allan Poe are shrouded in mystery. Did the author die of natural causes or is it possible he was murdered? And if so, by whom? You have been engaged by the Law Office of Hoggs, Frogs, Bogs, and Co. to explore Poe’s home, unravel the mystery, and unveil the truth.

Out of the 200 escape rooms I’ve done at this point, this is the first location where I felt like the game masters were intentionally designed with the story. It’s quite refreshing! Our trio did all three rooms with Secret Chambers in Arlington in one day! We started with Poe’s Adventure and the spooky jump scares were so much fun. The puzzles were enjoyable and Barnaby, our game master, nudged us along just the right amount. If you are a fan of Edgar Allan Poe, you will enjoy the references but background knowledge is not needed here. Set design was also stunning and thematic. Some crawling may be involved but as long as one person in your party can crawl, the rest of your group can join them. Shout out to Kashes for taking care of us the entire time! In addition to the game master, Kashes also introduced us to the rooms and made sure that we had enough time to do everything!

Great incorporation of Poe’s works without seeming forced. Some of the recordings were hard to hear, as was the game master on occasion. If you love Poe’s works you’ll like the room, but it can be played with no outside knowledge about Poe. Set design was immersive.

Wonderful atmosphere and neat puzzles that went beyond combination locks and fit the theme well. Enjoyed having the interactive game master.

I would rate this as a top ten experience I have had, fabulous storytelling and room. If you are in Dallas, this is the room. I will admit I love Edgar Allen Poe, but even the five guys I played with, who don't know crap about Poe loved it. Some creepy moments, some lighthearted jump scares, but do not let that discourage you at all. Just a fabulous room. Some of the elements need to some tender loving care, but the unique way they handle the host more than makes up for some of that. I will say when you are confident you have solved a clue, make sure everyone is present and silent because the bells and whistles of this room are worth seeing. For a local non chain escape room, of the almost 80 rooms I have played this was easy top ten, maybe top five.

So many highlights! -Poe references abound -Their subtle auditory clueing feels so atmospheric and immersive. -Our GM interactions were hauntingly cool. -There are so many unforgettable story beats and set pieces. -It’s always pretty obvious what is in play. The only question is how? -An epic finale One of my favorites out of nearly 170!

Awesome escape room! Challenging with use of multiple puzzle types. This room has a game master in costume and participating in the experience which ads a nice layer as well. Highly recommend!

We did this room with 2 people. The room was very fun with a lot of unique puzzles. There is a live actor to give you clues and it made it an even more fun experience. At times the room was a little scary but the staff at the front were very reassuring to all my anxieties before entering the room.
