Dr. Woo has been found dead in his mansion in North Hampshire, leaving behind a legacy of exploration and treasures. The location of Dr.Woo's most prized possession, "The Gold Jubilee", the world's largest diamond, has been made public as decreed in his will. Miners from all around the world have gathered to Gahcho Kuay hoping to find the Gold Jubilee. It will not be easy, as Dr. Woo has been known to enjoy a game or two and will surely test the minds of anyone making a run for his prized possession.

Dark rooms are challenging for us and we enjoyed this game. The initial set was a lot of fun and we enjoyed the puzzles and story. Once we entered the darkness of the mine, our progress slowed down. I found one of the puzzles in particular very frustrating although that's a reflection on the player not the game.

Our group of 4 had the great fortune to complete 30 games in Canada in under a week. Eleven of the games were from Escaparium. Three of the games were from Ezkapaz. Jonathan Driscoll, the co-owner of Escaparium and Ezkapaz, welcomed us warmly. During our stay in the area, I noticed how his staff was full of joy and passion for their craft, and how much he beamed when he spoke of his team. I feel that one of the reasons his company is truly outstanding is due to how much he respects his employees. I consider him warm, genuine, sincere, and focused on personal growth. I am impressed by him, his staff, and the masterpieces they have built together. Some aspects I most enjoyed from each of the rooms include the following: Magnifico (+ music, story, acting, set design, costumes, character development) Wardrobe for Sale (+ story, theme, character development, acting, set design, creativity) Final Stop (+ improv chemistry with our group, story) Wizard of 4 and the Book of the Black Arts (+ acting, theme) Forgotten Cathedral (+ set design, acting) Lost Island of the Voodoo Queen (+set design, puzzles) Opus Memori (+ voice actor. They pleasantly surprised us once briefly between our back-to-back games. <3) Blind Tiger (+ actor suavely providing hints) Return to the Cadavera Case (+ murder mystery experience) Golden Jubilee (+ meditative [My bf is laughing at my diction :Pl) Barber's Choice (+ comfy) Wizard of 4 and the Rise of Thulsa (+ surprising finale) Bernie Block (+ cute) The Family (+ puzzles, set design)

Enjoyed this one overall! The puzzles felt fresh and unique in the first half of the experience. Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Rooms are a bit small and does require crawling so keep that in mind. Finale was a bit of a letdown and the host had the radio when we were done certain puzzles and could move onto another. Having a more clear in-game way to indicate you were done would help make the second half feel more immersive.

This room had a lot of elements to like but the complete darkness made for a whole different experience. Was a ton of fun trying to rely on the other senses besides sight.

As an escape room player who does not enjoy dark rooms, this is probably the best version of this game style I have played. Probably because I like the lighted portion of this room so much and the transition is very smooth. The dark puzzles are like other dark room puzzles but nicely themed to the room.

Worst Escaperoom Ever. This room came highly reccomdned to me by one of my favorite companies. It was the reason I wanted to come to Montreal... Half the games at this location you can't play as a duo, without paying for 3 or 4 players. Now, this room is just potentially dangerous, so when they make you sign a medical waiver, they mean it.... The GM's hints were okay when we needed them. Now the second room is a total time sink. They think they are clever having you in 100% darkness, but when the GM came in to talk to us, he admitted 1 puzzle is just a complete time sink. Not to mention the puzzles pull you out of the immersion. There is also a puzzle that only works if you happen to touch it, which we only did once, but about 20 minutes before we found out how to solve it, so we completely forgot. While normally I'd say more people would help, this room with more than two would be so cramped and in the second room you'd totally hurt yourself. Congrats, you are 97th orlf 97 rooms. Such an expensive disappointment...
The second room is garbage.
The mine was so beautiful, but the second room was utterly waisted.
The people were "nice", but not even remotely friendly
No
The first room is lo Ely, the second is utter nonesense.

When the GM tells you it's a total time sink, it's not a puzzle... Sorry.

Whole this room certainly wouldn't hold the title of their best room, it was still a stretch ahead of most rooms that we've done elsewhere than Escaparium. We booked it last second on a whim after doing two others, and we were not disappointed.
Game play had immaculate flow with a strong emphasis on teamwork and communication. The second act was unlike anything we've ever seen in other rooms.
Special effects were few and far between, but that seems like it worked very well for the concept and atmosphere.
GM was thoughtful and always invested. Hints didn't feel forced or out of place given the established roles.

Super interesting concept!! If you’re not a fan of the dark though, don’t do this one. The entire second half is done in complete darkness. I felt the puzzles themselves were super cool!
