The Bakery Blunder
Decode Zone
Escape room
IRL
There were some fun elements to this and we loved the bakery theme! There were some fun props and cute little details. Unfortunately, it was pretty linear, very mechanical, and had a little repetition in some of the puzzles. We didn't enjoy this quite as much as the other rooms of theirs that we tried at this location, but at the reasonable price point, we didn't regret this! Still had a good time. :)
Sweet Escape
Skeleton Key Adventures
Escape room

This was our second room at this location, and we enjoyed it more than the first! The theme and set were super cute, and I loved the decorations in general throughout the whole location too. Some fun and satisfying puzzles and some cute surprises. All the workers always seem so friendly, and it's fun supporting a smaller business. A fun date night for my hubby and me for sure!

Queen Anne's Revenge
Epic Escapes

Amazing set, immersive theme, and really fun puzzles. We had fun with unique puzzles we had never seen before in escape rooms, and we also enjoyed some familiar types of puzzles too. Good variety of puzzles, fun decorations in the building, and the owners were a lot of fun to chat with. You can tell they put a lot of heart and creativity into the design and puzzles. We had a blast!
The Upside Down
The Games We Play
Escape room
IRL
This location has a lot of heart! The owners have out a lot into this, and the room was very unique. Fun puzzles, excellent set design, and really immersive theme. Lots of fun Easter eggs and small details that add to its appeal!
The Great Heist
Hocking Hills Escape Games
Escape room
IRL
We didn't realize that this room wasn't private, but we ended up having a really fun time with the strangers who were matched up with us! It was awesome seeing their shock and awe as they solved some of the trickier puzzles. This was all gen 1 puzzles, but there were a couple original ideas that we had never seen before. There weren't a lot of bells and whistles so to speak, but it was still a fun experience for being in the area.
Video Valhalla
Exit 4
Escape room
IRL
Almost gave this a heart, but our only complaint was that it felt a little too short! Some of the puzzles were really clever and fun, and we laughed out loud at several of the jokes included in the room. The set and the atmosphere were really fun and unique! We definitely always enjoy this location and try to stop any time we're passing through. :)
Murder In London
Funagin’s
Escape room
IRL
Even though a couple aspects were broken, it didn't take away the fun. This set design was top-tier and the environment was super immersive. We felt like we were actually walking through old London! You can tell a lot of heart went into this. There were several fun aha moments, and a great narrative flow as you solved the mystery. I was hesitant reading others' reviews, but I'm so glad we went!
Escape the Grotto
Skeleton Key Adventures
Escape room

We love their plan to change out the rooms every few months to keep it fresh! The mermaid theme was fun. This was a little less flashy and more lock-and-key, but it was still a really fun date! It was very reasonably priced, and we will definitely be bringing some friends back again soon. :)
CLUE
Breakout Games - Lexington
Escape room
IRL
Definitely one of Breakout's top rooms! This one and the Monopoly one seem to have much higher production values and much more ingenuity put into the design. Several unique and thematic puzzles that really fit the story well made this a blast. We have done 60+ rooms, but we've never experienced one like this where you get to decide the murderer!
Derby Heist
Breakout Games - Lexington
Escape room
IRL
Fun theme for the Kentucky Derby! Not one of our favorite rooms at Breakout; the puzzles mostly seemed like ones we have often seen. They fit the theme, but they didn't feel unique or memorable. If you're in town, consider the Monopoly room instead!
