The Secret LabLocked In EdinburghEscape roomIRLI have played this game twice and managed to work on different puzzles both times, that just shows how much there is in this game! Both times, I played in a team of 6 people (different teams both times), the max number is 10 which I would only recommend for less experienced players.
The Cutting RoomLocked In EdinburghEscape roomIRLI played this game as a group of 2 although the game is meant to be for 3+ players, and it definitely is a 3+ player room. First attempt I did not finish but I’m hoping to go back for a second go! The room size is very big and there are a lot (A LOT) of puzzles in there. Very cool set design, as always from Locked In Edinburgh.
The AnatomistEscape The PastEscape roomIRLThis game looked really good, pretty immersive set. The puzzles weren’t too difficult but required some teamwork and some out of the box thinking. Not a lot of technical aspects but that suits the olden day theming. Briefing was given in character, the GM was great and very friendly.
Magician's HeistEeek Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWe had visited Eeek at their site in Linlithgow a few years ago and had a brilliant time, so we were very excited to see their new Glasgow site open. Magician’s Heist might be one of my favourite escape games ever, the theming was immersive, the puzzles were original, there was even an interesting way of entering the room! You can tell that a lot of love has gone into the rooms at Eeek, the rooms look amazing, all of the puzzles and units in the room are well crafted, even the clues that we were given were themed beautifully.
The Bank HeistEscape Stirling - MurrayEscape roomIRLHad an amazing time playing the Bank Heist! The room itself looks great, just like being in a bank. Really clean and pretty spacious. The puzzles were interesting, some of them were nice and simple, others were a bit trickier!
Bitter SweetLocked In GlasgowEscape roomIRLGot off to a bit of a slow start in this one with just two players as we got split up, but once we were into the main bit of the game there was only one point where we got stuck. That section was a little frustrating as it was more of a dexterity/aiming test rather than an actual puzzle, personally I’m not a big fan of challenges that have to be completed through some sort of physical element rather than by logic. Other than that it was a game that looked very cool, pretty atmospheric and had some nice puzzles.
The DistilleryLocked In EdinburghEscape roomIRLThe Distillery is not the most difficult game at Locked In Edinburgh but is a solid game for beginners and experienced players alike.
School Of MagicLocked In GlasgowEscape roomIRLLoved the layout of the gameplay, it was very well signposted and easy to find what we needed to be working on. The set design of the game was great and there were some nice ‘magical’ elements! Was a little bit tricky for just two players, thought we almost weren’t going to make it but we did it with around 3 minutes to spare!
Mystery and MoonshineDivergent Games Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWe got an in-character introduction to the story which was very cool, some great acting and a great accent! The game itself looked very good, just like a PI’s office, the music was well themed and the puzzles were tricky but not too tricky. There are also some very cool tech elements/surprises, no spoilers here though! We did need a couple of hints along the way but managed to escape in time.
