The scenic work throughout the location is simply gorgeous. I particularly love visiting the "Ice Age" area and cave systems of the attraction. The acting is also really great throughout, none of the actors will touch you or anything like that.
HellsGateHellsGate Haunted HouseHauntHaunted houseI have had the pleasure of visiting Hellsgate at least 5 times and it gets better every single year. The interior is beautifully done from hardwood floors to crown molding. It is everything a haunted house should be. The actors are just amazing, its not a bunch of "Get out!"s or random snarls, there is thought behind the action and dialogue. The queue line actors are always the fun to interact with and will keep you entertained until you enter the mansion. It is a challenge to not just marvel at the beauty of this evil old mansion as you meander the various rooms but the entities within will keep you on your toes.
The DarknessThe DarknessHauntHaunted houseThe Darkness was a decently long attraction to walkthrough over several floors. Fair amount of blood and gore if you are the queasy-squeamish type. Lots of fun lighting effects and animatronics.
Statesville Haunted PrisonStatesville Haunted PrisonHauntHaunted houseStatesville Prison was the Rock-N-Roll of Haunted attractions. It was intense, terrifying, and a real trip. The actors were simultaneously scary, funny and quick witted. The queue line actors really helped to pass the time and there were staples like Fluffy you could see every year that just really added to the "muchness" that was Statesville. If you didn't get to visit before the Prison closed, the inmates escaped and moved into Hellsgate so you can find them there. As a postscript, I had the awesome opportunity to visit one October and act for a weekend at Statesville and City of the Dead and not only was the attraction amazing because of its set design and costuming but the people that made the magic possible were just the most welcoming and amazing people you can ever meet. It was such a collaborative environment where actors were sharing tips to elicit better scares and emotions from the guests. They really care about their craft and safety and making sure everyone has a great time.

It is one of the largest haunts I have ever walked through and you will be thrilled for every minute of it! Something I had never really seen before was so many epic-sized monsters.
Cryptid ChaosNetherworld Haunted HouseHauntHaunted houseI love cryptids and I was very excited to get out to see Netherworld's cryptid themed attraction. The monsters are just huge and amazing and everything you could want in a huge hairy critter. Don't skip this attraction if you are in the Atlanta area in the fall!
Dark Hour Haunted HouseDark HourHauntHaunted houseI have visited Dark Hour a few times over the years and it is a beautifully designed haunted house attraction. Everything is well thought out and designed in a manner to really showcase the set design. The attraction often changes large portions of the set from year to year to constantly keep the customer guessing what will be around the corner. Strange note but they have the cleanest and best "smelling" restroom I have ever visited at a haunted house. I only point this out because the feeling of cleanliness was overwhelming in a positive way.
Macabre CinemaMacabre CinemaHauntHaunted houseI have been to Cinema of the Macabre several times and always enjoy the show. The theme is centered around all of your favorite horror and slasher films of the past and has a little of something to scare everyone.
Bates MotelThe Bates Motel & AttractionsHauntHaunted houseThe trip from Philadelphia to the Bates Motel was worthwhile! The amount of attractions and things to do will fill up the evening. Plenty of actors to make you jump and really good sets. There is a good reason why the Bates Motel is considered one of the best haunts in the country, the attention to detail and the atmosphere is very well done. Be prepared to be scared.
DeliriumHalloween Nights at Eastern State PenitentiaryHauntHaunted houseThe haunted attraction at Eastern State Penitentiary is located inside of the very real, first prison built in the United States. This was the first spoke and wheel designed prison in the world and is the model for all modern prisons. Like everything in colonial Philadelphia, Ben Franklin had a hand in the design. When you go Eastern State, you are going to a real piece of history and the owners of the attraction have done a lot to keep this historical place in good shape. The haunted attraction is designed to easily take you from themed "house" to the next to allow you to see every attraction. The first time I went was Halloween night 2007, we were studying for our final exams for our 1L year at Drexel and realized it was Halloween so we took a break to visit Eastern State. It was a blast and a very good memory.
