Cinema SlasherKnott’s Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseThis is a brand new maze to celebrate Knotts Scary Farms 50th anniversary. While inside I also noticed that it was also a tribute for favorite mazes of the past. All of the spaces were well designed with plenty of areas for Scareactors to use. It seems like the maze kept going and going. There was a really cool fx in the lobby with the Scareactor and the music will for sure be stuck in your head all night.
Mesmer: Sideshow Of The MindKnott’s Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseMesmer had a preshow in the past and it made the experience a lot better. It’s still a great maze. Its a bit like a funhouse you see at fairs. There were a handful of fun interactions I had with the Scareactors throughout the maze and a couple “wow” factors too. The crew working line control did a great job leaving gaps within the maze so that the Scareactors could spend quality time with the Guests. I never noticed it in the past but at the end there’s these props on the wall you could spin and the strobe lights in the room will reveal an animation on the props, kinda like a zoetrope but it’s a wheel instead — cool little detail!

Ghost Town StreetsKnott’s Scary FarmHauntScare zoneThis is what started it all! All the iconic monsters are here. To celebrate the 50th, veteran monsters returned to join in on the Haunt. The energy with all of them together was wild! Especially for the opening scaremony. The Bride is my favorite! Don’t hestitate to interact with some of the monsters in Ghost Town. This area is definitely elevated later on in the night when the fog is thick and the crowds are spread out. If you have some time, find a place to sit and just watch them on the hunt!
The DepthsKnott’s Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseIt’s rumored that this will be the last year of The Depths and it makes me sad, but also excited for what’s to come in the future. This has become one of my favorite mazes. I love the theme, the set designs, the interactions I’ve had with the Scareactors, and the special fx. There’s an awesome special fx that literally immersed you — that also created a space for monsters to hide in plain site. Make sure to yell out “shark bait ooh haa haa!!!” At the end. I don’t want to see this go away :-(
Origins: The Curse Of CalicoKnott’s Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseOrigins has become one of my favorite mazes through the years. I love the bits of history about Knotts and Sarah Marshall, the original witch of Calico, scattered throughout the maze. The set designs in each space was amazing and a lot of cool spaces for Scareactors to use. There are some great “wow” moments I don’t want to spoil. They do use a lot of multimedia throughout the maze, which is alright, but it was sometimes overpowering. Wait til you see Sarah!
WidowsKnott’s Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseThis is my favorite maze this year! Knotts outdid themselves with this production quality. The interactions we had with a lot of the actors was great. The only thing I didn’t like was it got really humid in a few parts of the maze.
CarnEvilKnott’s Scary FarmHauntScare zoneCarnEvil was amazing this year! The scare zone has improved with props and decor. The boardwalk area is a huge concrete landscape and in previous years, there wasn’t any extra decor to make it feel like a carnival. I was overjoyed seeing bits and pieces of decor scattered throughout Carnevil this year! The Scareactors were everywhere and you could tell they were having fun with the Guest. There was only one thing that was missing and that was fog!
Gore-ing '20sKnott’s Scary FarmHauntScare zoneI don’t want to call this a scare zone. Most times I just passed through and observe. I noticed that there were no sliders (maybe one) but they don’t rely on sliders to interact with guests. There was a lot of interaction amongst themselves and guest around them. It was theatrical. I recommend taking a moment and joining in on this interactive storytelling. Ask one of the Scareactors about the Devils Elixir and see where it goes. There are a few small set pieces that were pretty cool and I wish there were more of those scattered around because it just seemed empty and it’s not a big space either. There’s also a live jazz band that performs and the place turns into a block party. I kinda wished that jazz band would come down on the streets and perform. You should check out the Tiger Crawl and join in! Hopefully in the upcoming years it’ll keep getting upgrades.
Eight Fingers Nine: The BoogeymanKnott’s Scary FarmHauntHaunted house8 Fingers 9 replaces Dark Entities. It is about a Boogeyman in the colonial times. The production of this is insane. I don’t get scared easily but I love an immersive theatrical stroll through a live play walkthrough maze. There was definitely some monologueing going on at the beginning.
