Lab RatHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLThis was a very cool “room!” Our game master Ben was awesome, 100% on. We got off to a quick start, picking up on where to start. Overall, a great, slightly complicated room. We could have used a couple more people, 4 being a challenge.
Houdini60Out - Silver LakeEscape roomIRLFun room! We moved through pretty smoothly. Plenty of red herrings to distract along the way. The room met my expectations for its theme. I thought aspects of it were very clever.
The Ramen ShopMystery Maui Escape RoomEscape roomIRLWe really liked the concept and design. You enter a small restaurant & kitchen. A bit too much for 2 people. We were directed to 2 things to read at first which sucked up some time. Completely relevant, but the clock was ticking. Still, much of what we needed was contained in those pages. We were so close to finishing that he gave us an extra minute.
TombstoneMaze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLFun room with lots of puzzles. It’s mostly, though not exclusively, linear. We stumbled early on due to the dim lighting. That was very disappointing and frustrating! But once we got past that obstacle, we were able to move forward and finish the mission. Staff was friendly and the room’s mechanics were cool. I was not interested in the theme, but reviews were so good that I couldn’t resist. I’m glad we did it!
The Salem Witch HuntBack In Time Escape Rooms - Harbor CityEscape roomIRLCute room. Listed as Medium, but we we told it was a beginner’s room upon arrival. Not terribly complicated, though we did ask for 1 clue towards the end. Fun atmosphere. Loved the theme, but would have been happier had it been a little more involved.
Cyberpunk SamuraiMaze Rooms - LAXEscape roomIRLThe story is … what? But the puzzles were interesting and fun. It gets very, very loud.
Hotel On Road 6660Out - HHLAEscape roomIRLFun room, fairly easy. There were a few jump scare moments. And a surprise or 2. Totally linear, so we had to work together to keep moving forward.
Doctor Psycho60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLFun room, perfect for newbies, fairly easy for more experienced escapists. We really liked the flow and thought some of the puzzles were very clever. Lock-heavy, camera flashlight & photos permitted!
Hyde Circus60Out - Silver LakeEscape roomIRLThe idea was good, and maybe it was amazing a few years ago, but in 2025, most of the puzzles appeared to be disabled. When we finished, we were shocked as there appeared to be a lot more to do. There wasn’t. Of the abled puzzles, at least 1 took multiple inputs of the same code before it opened. I tried the same series of #s 5 times, with the GM confirming it was the correct code. It was also very dark. Glad we read the most recent reviews in advance so we knew to keep our phones on hand. New rule: we’re going to def read the most recent reviews before booking…
