The hosts did a wonderful job running the room and every puzzle/electronic in the room operated smoothly. No glitches. The theme was whimsical and the puzzles were exciting. A good mix of unique puzzle types and standard lock puzzles. Love this experience!
Escape from ShawshankThe Ohio State ReformatoryEscape roomIRLOverall, this was a fun room. I definitely recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of the movie. Some things to consider: this isn’t a private experience, so unless you book all eight slots you’ll likely be paired with another group. That’s not my preference but it may not bother other groups. For sensory needs, there is a flashing light in the first section, a couple of sections are low light, and there is bell that chimes when you get a clue or unlock a door, but it’s not super loud. I’m autistic and have mild sensory needs and it was fine. Overall: It’s a well done room but be aware if you need/want a private experience or have moderate to severe sensory needs it may not be the room for you.
The Apocalypse LabThe Ohio State ReformatoryEscape roomIRLOverall, this was a great room. It was themed well and had great puzzles. It’s intended for more experienced players but newer players could enjoy the room if they are with someone more experienced or do the Shawshank room at this location first. I gave this room a like instead of a love because of my personal preference for the theme. Someone else booked the room for our group and I wasn’t aware there would be props with blood and that’s something I’m not personally fond of. Otherwise, I would have given this room a love. If you or someone in your group has sensory needs, there is a flickering light that they cannot turn off. I’m autistic and the light bothered me in the beginning but I adjusted to it. I’d say my sensory issues are mild so if someone in your group has moderate to severe light sensitivity that may be something to consider. While personal needs/preferences are something to consider when booking this room, it’s overall a great experience and I highly recommend it.
